Risk assesment for film
1. Film: Beware of your Nightmares.
Hazard
Risk
Who is at risk
Using an
actual knife
Characters can
get stabbed by
other characters
in the violence
scenes.
All the characters in
that scene. This would
be the person who
plays the villain and
the victim.
Wet floor
People can slip
and hurt
themselves
Everyone is at risk. The
person who is
recording and the
characters.
Shots from
high up or
near the
edge of
something
People can fall of
the edge and if
the camera is
heavy people
might drop it from
high up.
Time
pressure
Rushing to finish
in time is when
hazards get
missed, or
people start
taking risks.
The person who is
recording which is me.
Also the characters
because if I’m taking a
high up shot from a
higher stairs then the
camera could drop on
the characters head
and cause them to
have injuries.
Everyone
Control Measures
Characters must not
run with the knife in
the hands in the
scenes that they are
not being filmed.
I could also replace the
sharp metal knife with
a shiny plastic knife
which would not cause
any harm if it pokes
the characters or
someone false while
running with it.
I need to make sure all
the settings have a dry
floor
I also need to watch
the weather forecast
to make sure it is not
raining on that day
because some of my
scenes will be filmed
outside.
I need to make sure
that I can hold the
weight of the camera
and if I can’t I need to
get someone to hold it
for me in that shot.
Remind everyone that
it is just a film and
there is no need to
rush. I can start
recording my film at
least a month before
the deadline so I have
enough time to film so
there is no need to
rush and do filming in
the last minute.
