There are many important Themes in the novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry. These themes
include: racial prejudice, loyalty, honesty, friendship, personal integrity and respect for others.
Although Jeremy Simms and TJ Avery are fairly minor people in the book, their characters are used
to inforce and strengthen the themes of the novel.
We first meet TJ Avery whenCassie, Stacey, Little Man and Christopher–John are walking to school.

All the whites come after TJ and try to murder him. Mr Logan sacrifices 1/4 of his cotton in order
to save TJ. Because of this incredible act of friendship towards TJ, TJ only got arrested – as opposed
to killed. TJ causes a great deal of damage to himself and the people around him and everyone just
wishes that he would grow up.
Jeremy Simms is a complementry character. He is a quiet and timid boy who is kind and loyal. He
is one of the few white people who see the blacks a equals. He always walks to school with them,
despite the fact that he gets ridiculed and beaten by his family and piers.

Theme Of Memento
Christopher Nolan's neo noir thriller film, Memento (2000), follows the life of the protagonist,
Leonard Shelby, as he searches for the person who murdered his wife, whilst dealing with
anterograde amnesia, forcing him to use "memento's" to retain new memories. Through the
employment of mise–en–scГЁne and sound design, the central theme of 'the pursuit of vengeance'
could be conveyed. Additionally, the theme 'the fragility of memory', is illustrated to the viewer
through cinematography and editing. These techniques and themes are most evident in the dramatic
final sequence in the film, specifically when Leonard finally gets revenge and Teddy unveils the truth
about John G to him.

scenes showing that the protagonist's wife survived the assault, which is evident as she removes the
shower curtain from her head in a flashback. This indicates the unreliability of Leonard's memory
and the devastating result of 'Conditioning [himself] to remember, learning through repetition'.
Nolan's employment of flashbacks within the sequence expresses Leonards desperate attempt to
escape guilt through the fragility of his memory. This is exemplified in the flashback when

Argumentative Essay On Identity Politics
Identity politics is defined as 'a tendency for people of a particular religion, race, social background,
etc., to form exclusive political alliances, moving away from traditional broad–based party politics.'
In simpler terms, identity politics promotes the idea of political issues to be solved from a point of
interest based on a personal factor rather than their initial political siding. This form of dealing with
issues has particularly been active recently with the likes of Trump's presidential win and the
uprising of issues surrounding race, gender and sexuality. Although I have found it to be more
commonly upheld in the United States, Australia is not foreign to this concept as multiple instances
including the 'Changing of Australia Day' and the 'Same–sex Marriage Debate' has brought forward
the interests of groups based on characteristic rather than political siding.
However, today I will be arguing against this concept as a suitable method of dealing with issues as
I believe that identity politics encourages segregation in society. I will let you know that I am not
against the concept of identity politics as a whole because there are benefits from the idea. But I
am against how it has been executed since it encourages division based on personal factors,
dismisses individualism in situations and promotes the idea of only being able to contribute towards
an issue if part of a specific group.

Homer's great literary classic, The Odyssey, represents and illustrates many emotional and mental
values. All of these values can be classified under three different main themes that are constant
throughout the epic tale. These themes are: A boy's struggle to be a man, a king's struggle to reclaim

The Hunger Artist's primary interest was in the recognition from the crowd, an achievement never
completely fulfilled because of the crowds inability to understand the passion he had in his work.
The audiences fascination with the Hunger artist's fasting is what the artist lived for. In the
beginning of the story the hunger artist's desire for attention is illustrated when the narrator said "
much more to his taste were the watchers who sat close up to the bars … He was quite happy
at the prospect of spending a sleepless night with such watchers."(299) Even the guards who were
appointed to watch over him were enough to quench the artist's thirst for attention. When the Hunger
Artist was no longer a source of entertainment a circus hired him as a minor attraction. There the

is Lady Macbeth sleeping walking towards the end of the play. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth killed
the king of Scotland (Duncan) and she is feeling guilty for what she has done. Also, she doesn't
like what her husband has done like killing Macduff's whole family. She feels as if she was
responsible for that. In a result of that she ends up sleep walking and eventually killing herself
because she couldn't live with the guilt anymore. The guilt of killing Duncan literally ate at Lady
Macbeth and destroyed her to the point of suicide. Macbeth feels guilty for killing Duncan.

someone close to them should try to take a little extra time to spend with that person and try to set

This is noticeable when he is talking to Nick. He thinks he can fix everything which we see when
he is talking to Nick, " ' I'm going to fix everything just the way it was before,' Gatsby said, and
nodding determinedly. 'She'll see.' "(110). At this point in the novel Gatsby sees how close his
goal is, but he feels that the only way to get Daisy is to repeat the past and ignore the present, so
she can feel the way she did about Gatsby before she met Tom. All the characters in this book will
do anything to repeat the past, and do not see all the opportunities in front of them. Yet they are

A thematic analysis of an interview was used to help students develop an understanding of the role
of an RC. This role is dynamic and challenging; it offers great opportunities to grow and work in an
academic team based environment that fosters constant learning. Often RCs play a significant role in
the process of bringing a project from conception to completion which requires a variety of
qualifications and leadership qualities. An inductive approach to this process, beginning with data
collection and analysis, allowed me to consider specific aspects of the topic and progress on to
more general concepts. Eventually, I was able to discover connections between existing knowledge
and the data I analyzed. The finalized themes included Qualifications; Role of Team Leader;
Rewards and Challenges.
Qualifications
Qualifications was identified as a theme because it is an essential part of "understanding the person
at the center of the research" (lines 18–19). I created sub–themes (education, organizational skills,
and characteristics) that would make assigning codes and understanding the connections to the
theme easier (Appendix E). When discussing educational requirements for the position, the
participant felt that an understanding of statistics is essential and that courses on data analysis
