Do we drive technology?

We need to think not just about what technology
is and how we learn in it's context; but where
technologies are emerging from; and how they
are changing how we learn...
What are emerging
technologies?
Veletsianos gives 5 criteria for technologies
to be considered emerging:
1. They may or may not be new
2. They are "evolving organisms that exist
in a state of 'coming into being'"(Veletsianos p.13)
3. They "go through hype cycles" (Veletsianos p.14)
4. They are not yet fully understood or fully
researched
5. They are "potentially disruptive but their
potential is mostly unfulfilled" (Veletsianos p.16)
