Mind map for media 2
1. TV Drama
Characters
• General stereotypical characters of a tv
drama :
• Popular character
• Nerd character
• Sensible character
• Outgoing character
• Shy character
Some TV dramas I have researched have
been focused around the most popular
character, even though the main characters
are the others, the popular character is the
focus of the storyline.
Genre
Our target audience is 16- 25-year
old's for or new tv drama. I was
thinking about what genre would
appeal to an age group such as this
one, and the one that I kept going back
to was Teen drama. Once thinking
about this I wanted to some extra
research on the genre of a thriller and
a teen drama. I found a few
examples.
Teen dramas
Stranger things Pretty Little Liars
Skins
90210
Gossip girl
13 reasons why
Storyline
I started to think about where teens go and
what they do, what places could the audience
relate to and what are generally things and
places associated with teenage social groups.
Some of the most common places I came up
with were:
• Friends' houses
• Party's
• School/ college
• A park
Protagonist
When thinking about my main character, it
was my initial thought that it would just be a
boy that goes missing, but after my research
I want to have a stong female lead as I feel as
though it will create more mystery. She will
be:
• Fearless.
• Popular
• Desired
• Mysterious
• Envied
• Secretive
• young
My idea is for the main female character to go
missing, and to follow the story of the friends after
the incident. I want to explore how each different
character deals with the disappearance and the slow
introduction of hidden secrets. I want to show how
the dynamics of the friendship group will change
and I hope by doing this the audience will be able to
relate, making it more interesting. Furthermore, the
idea of following the disappearance will keep the tv
drama in constant suspense, holding the audiences'
interest
After thinking about the location of
the drama, this enabled me to think
of a clearer storyline. I wanted to
create a sense of mystery and
suspense that would appeal to
everyone. I feel as though a lot of
young adults also can relate to
teenagers and school, which is why I
chose a group of school friends
being broken by a shocking
moment.
