3. Hold down the bindings
• Grip both rubber tips of the binding and pull up to get them out of
the way
4. Hook rubber bands around a binding
• While still holding down the binding, hook the rubber bands around
one of them and keep the binding down
5. Secure binding
• Bring the rubber bands around and hook them on the other side to
keep the binding secure without having to hold them
6. Sharpen the skis
• either using a vice grip or a steady hand, keep your skis stable and
place the file on the tail end of your skis
• slowly run the file along the whole edge using constant pressure
• repeat this step several times until satisfied
7. Flip skis and repeat
• flip your skis to the other side and repeat the process, starting the file
at the tail end and slowly dragging it across to the tip, keeping a
constant pressure and direction
8. Check your edge
• after several passes on each side carefully scrape the back of your
hand across the edge to judge its sharpness. be careful not to cut
yourself while you do this. if it is still dull it will feel smooth, with a
sharp ski will scrape a little bit of skin off
