9. Study skills support Help with academic writing from the ELLS team - understanding assignment titles, structuring assignments, academic style, referencing, and more. English language development from the ELLS team- punctuation, spelling, grammar, increasing your vocabulary, and more. Numeracy support- for all students who need help with maths. Particularly useful to students who need to pass numeracy tests, e.g. as part of QTS for teaching.

Study skills support is for: Undergraduates and Postgraduates Speakers of English as a First, Second or Foreign Language Students who are on- campus or off-campus Students who are doing well and students who want to do better Students who are new to Middlesex University, new to London or new to the UK Students returning to education after a long gap or coming directly from another course
11. What does the team offer? 30-minute individual tutorials that are free and confidential. General workshops or classes at Trent Park that are free to everybody. No need to enrol in advance, just turn up on the day. Begin in Week 2. Workshops that are tailored to the subject you are studying (your course lecturers will organise these) Online tutorials and information sheets on various academic topics Online writing courses

17. How to access the computers - username Your IT User ID is printed on the back of your student card. It is usually your initials followed by 3 or more digits. Write down your IT user ID now
18. How to access the computers - password The first time you login, your password is set to: Mdx + Student Number + Date of Birth For example, if your Student Number = M00123456 and your Date of Birth = 27/06/89Then your password is: MdxM00123456270689 Write down your password now
19. How to access the computers - password You will be forced to change your password the first time you login, so think of a new one now. It MUST be at least 8 characters long and include:At least 1 letter in UPPERCASEAt least 1 letter in lowercaseAt least 1 number For example Sunsh1ne or Monday63 Pick something you are going to easily remember. Think of your new password now
