The Ledňáček Montessori & Forest Kindergarten was created by parents and educators in the Tišnov Region of the Czech Republic to combine forest pedagogy and the Montessori approach. It is run by the Hnízdo Association, which also operates two elementary schools and a forest family club. Ledňáček admits a maximum of 16 children per day and follows a daily schedule that incorporates Montessori activities, forest excursions, snacks, meals and rest periods. The kindergarten and association provide volunteering opportunities for students to get involved in teaching, activities and community life while learning about forest and Montessori education.

for our children to grow."
"Ledňáček Montessori & Forest Kindergarten"
3. Ledňáček was created on the
initiative of parents and
educators in the Tišnov Region,
who wanted to connect two
wonderful approaches to
preschool education:
- forest pedagogy
- Maria Montessori's approach
And how it all started...
4. The Hnızdo Assocıatıon
The founder of Ledňáček Forest
Kindergarten is Hnízdo - an association for
community education, which is also the
founder of ZaHRada Elementary School,
which has been successfully operating in
Tišnov for six years and CoLibri Elementary
School, based in Předklášteří.
Both elementary schools closely cooperate
with the Forest Family Club near Tišnov
Kalužníček, which is based on the principles
of a forest kindergarten.
5. The Hnízdo association decided to
respond to the increasing interest in
forest nurseries and expand the
offer of preschool education in the
Tišnov Region by establishing a
forest kindergarten with the
principles of Montessori pedagogy.
Ledňáček is thus, among other
things, an ideal environment for the
pre-school preparation of children
who enter ZŠ ZaHRada, which uses
Montessori pedagogy and emphasizes
frequent stays in nature and other
stimulating environments.
