1. Lesson Objectives:
1. To recall the Fundamental Dance Positions of the arms and the feet; and
2. To perform the Fundamental Dance Positions of the arms and the feet in
dancing Foreign Folk Dances.
There are five fundamental or basic positions in dance that are commonly termed as
positions of the arms and the feet.
1st Position
Arms: Both raised forward in a
circle in front of chest with the
finger tips about an inch apart.
Feet: Heels close together; toes
apart with and angle of about 45
degrees.
2. 2nd Position 3rd Position
