Disha NEET Physics Guide for classes 11 and 12.pdf
Question 6
1. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE
PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING
YOUR PRODUCT?
2. APPLE MAC
When creating my music
magazine I used an Apple Mac.
With an apple processor with
2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 3GB
RAM.
The 3GB RAM is the memory when
working on numerous items at one
time, the higher the GB the faster
the working memory will be. 3GB is
a good size to support the work
that I was doing when creating my
magazine.

3. KEYBOARD AND MOUSE
MAC keyboard and mouse are different to regular
keyboards and mouse for example windows designs.
On the Mac keyboard I learned how to use the command
key for many activities such as copying ( cmd+c) and
pasting (cmd+v) and also printing screening
(cmd+shift+4). Where as regular keyboard it would simply
be the control button.
The apple mouse is also different as it only has one
button instead of two buttons. This is different to a regular
mouse with two buttons.
4. CAMERA
When taking photos for my magazine I
used a DSLR Nikon D1500. I have learned
how to use the auto focus, applying the
flash and change the scene to match the
type of photo I am aiming to create.
It is important to get a good quality
photo which is focused on the artists
face, this makes it look more professional.
I have also learned about the
composition of a the photograph by
creating the frame of the picture.
5. STROBE FLASH
I used a lighting hemisphere 300w and camera shutter
speed 1/200 seconds to match the strobe speed. This is
important to create the correct exposure.
For my article photos I wanted to create a ‘cold feeling’, so
I added a blue coloured frame over the lights to create a
tinted blue background in the photograph. This had a huge
impact on my photos as it completely changed the scene of
the picture and created the perfect background for my
article pictures.
6. SD CARD AND SD CARD READER
I used a 16GB SD card in the camera I was using to
store the image I took for my music magazine.
I then transferred and imported these images to the
Apple Mac via the SD card reader.
I used this process to import the images from the camera
to the apple mac as it was quick and simple. I could
have however simply used the camera’s USB lead to
transfer the photographs.
7. OPERATING SYSTEM
I used the Apple Mac OS X version
10.58. This is a different system to
what I'm used to, so I had to learn
the different areas. Such as how to
save and copy work, how to use the
files and docks and also create
shortcuts and use the finder tool.
8. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop is a professional graphics editing program
developed and published by Adobe Systems and I used
Adobe Photoshop Cs5 version 12.0.
I learned all the different features such as how to add
different layers, make different selections and using the
tool palette. Also how to save and export the final
product and how to make image adjustment by
changing the brightness and contrast to create the
perfect picture.
9. ADOBE INDESIGN
InDesign is a good piece of software to align text perfectly. I
used InDesign Cs3 version 5 desktop publishing software
(D.T.P).
InDesign is very different to Photoshop as it uses many other
tools and features, this was difficult to learn however it
became a lot more easier once I had grasped the concept.
InDesign has taught me how to place and align text on the
page around an image to make it more professional. I can
also add different effects to the text such as a shadow or a
stroke to make the text stand out and seem more effective
on the page.
10. SAFARI
I used the web browser safari, opposed to windows internet
explorer which I would usually use as I am more familiar with
this web browser. As I was new to using safari I learned how
to open new tabs (File, new tab) and how to save images by
simply dragging the image to the desktop.
I used Google as my search engine on safari. I also used
wordpress which is as blogging system to produce all my
media work on the internet all in one place on my own
blogging page (http://helengouldingmedia.wordpress.com /)
Here I learned how to create my own posts which included
images and hyperlinks and how to create my own pages.
