4. Editor’s Choice This distinction is the first acknowledgement that your book is approved by self-publishing professionals and readers. We will add the Editor’s Choice icon to the books’ cover and allow you to forward us any entry forms for contests or awards that you cannot enter on your own.

5. Rising Star To qualify for the rising star program, you must purchase the Premier Pro Publishing package or higher and qualify for Editor’s Choice. Your book must also pass all editorial and marketing requirements. Your Rising Star book will have the opportunity to be featured on a special monthly collection at BarnesandNoble.com. Rising Star titles are presented to a sales force to national, regional and local book sellers. Rising Star authors are given professional support from the day of publication.

6. Reader’s Choice If your book qualifies for Editor’s Choice and sells 250 or more copies with at least half sold through retail, it is eligible for Reader’s Choice. The Reader’s Choice icon will be placed on your book, showing that your self-published book is not only of high-quality, but it is in demand.

7. Star Program If your book qualifies for Editor’s Choice and sells 500 copies, half of which in retail, your book qualifies for the Star Program. The Star Review Board will determine whether or not your book is eligible for the program, depending on the books’ ability to receive broader recognition and greater commercial success. A book in the Star Program receives industry standard discount, full return status with retailers, a professional cover reassessment, a Star logo and representation for sales for domestic and foreign subsidiary rights.
