19. COMPETENCY ALIGNMENT
• Problem 1: An issuer wants to make clear which officially defined
competencies are certified by the Open Badges
• Problem 2: An earner wants to see which competencies have to be
evidenced to earn an Open Badge
• Objective: Assist issuers in defining OB with competency alignment
• Solution Step 1: Improve Open Badge Specification for the
BadgeClass to allow better alignment to competency frameworks
• Solution Step 2: Design a web directory filled by crawling
semantic competency definitions and providing JSON-LD format
search results that can be used in OpenBadge definitions.
