This document describes the design and working of a pneumatic reciprocating water pumping system. The system uses compressed air and a pneumatic cylinder to pump water with very little electric power. It consists of a water tank, non-return valve, pneumatic cylinder, and control unit. When the solenoid valve is actuated, the pneumatic cylinder extends and retracts, driving a pumping cylinder that sucks water in on the retract stroke and delivers it on the extend stroke. The system requires minimal manpower and electric power, provides a quick pumping process, and could significantly impact mechanical lubrication applications.
