Flag Day (National Flag Day) in the United States is
observed on June 14, to honor the national flag.

It commemorates the adoption of the US flag, and
approval of the first design of the national flag.

The week of June 14 is also designated as the "National
Flag Week”…

…the next 21 days through to Independence Day (July
4) are a special time to commemorate the US nation.

Although Flag Day is a nationwide observance, it is not a
public holiday in many parts of the United States.

It is a legal holiday in a few areas in the USA, such as
Montour County in Pennsylvania.

The Betsy Ross House has long been the site of
Philadelphia's observance of Flag Day.

Many people in the USA honor this day by displaying the
American flag at homes and public buildings.

Other ways of observing Flag Day are through
ceremonial raising of the flag, …

…recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance,…

...singing of the National Anthem, a parade, and Flag
Day services.

The National Flag Day Foundation is involved in
celebration activities and keeps the flag’s traditions alive.
