The Department of Psych-ology and Library & Information Science in cooperation with the Josenian Library
and Information Scien-ce_S-ociety, the undergraduate LIS organization, wiil be holding a seminar-workshop
gnttlled "Practicing What We Preach : Crafting OBE-based lnformation Literacy progirams,, to be held at the
St. Pius Orientation Hall, Basak Campus, gasaf Pardo, Cebu City on October i, zO,li.Specific objectives are to:
tr Refresh on and highlight the key concepts of information literacy; tr Recognize the relevance of outcomes-based education to library instruction;
n Learn how to make effective, purposive and Ievel-appropriate instruction modules; and
tr Apply learned techniques on how to handte effective information literacy sessions.
wefrave tapped Mr. John Louie Zabala, RL, our esteemed faculty member and one of the university-trained
OBE anchors to facilitate the said seminar.
lnformation literacy being one of the vital services of a library regardless of type, librarians specializations of all are invited to participate in the training. Yet, instiuction librarians in the academic environments and school are hopedto bemore eager in participaling t-he seminar. A fee of php inclusive 1so.oo will be of snacks, charged seminar kits, handoue ahO ce*ificatls.
