The document reviews 10 papers that experimentally investigated heat transfer from permeable fins under natural convection. Various fin geometries and parameters were studied, including perforation shape, diameter, spacing, fin orientation, and material. Key findings include that heat transfer increases with more perforations and perforations located in the middle of fins. Triangular perforations and perforated fins oriented at 90 degrees performed best. The optimal fin configuration depends on the application and design constraints. In general, permeable fins can enhance heat transfer compared to solid fins.
