1. BACKGROUND
During the last five years, the EuroMed region has experienced major crises affecting North and
South alike, leading to structural and overall transformation of their local context. In this process,
on both shores of the Mediterranean, the youth has been at the heart of the developments and
changes, either by being - as a social group - dearly affected by unemployment, lack of
opportunities as well as by being the target of xenophobia and racism, or by leading the
developments and uprisings for a new political reality. Hence, new conditions, needs and
challenges have emerged, together with new social phenomena and movements to understand,
and new opportunities for action.
Through an interactive and youth-friendly process, this event will tackle the concept and process
of ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ by providing the participants with the entrepreneurial skills needed
to develop innovative ideas and projects to face the current difficult economic conditions and
contribute to positive societal change in their communities and in the world.
On the other hand, the event will encourage youth to become more community-oriented and
locally engaged, hence taking the responsibility of their future into their own hands by becoming
active citizens and change agents of their societies.
2. OBJECTIVES
The event will aim at:
- Empowering youth with the relevant skills and tools in relation to Social
Entrepreneurship and Active Citizenship;

human beings and members of their respective and global society;
