Wordle Generate “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share. Or take a screen shot of it.
Ways to Use Wordle Introduction to a unit -combine key words and themes to provide learners with a visual overview of content. Enter keywords from weekly weather reports to obtain a seasonal picture Student “All About Me” posters at beginning of the year Word referents for over used words (ex. said) Determine what ideas are most important in a famous speech.
Ways to Use Wordle Character Traits Analysis Give pupils a self-esteem boost & improve relationships	Write each child's name on a separate sheet of paper. Circulate each sheet around the class so each pupil writes at least 1 positive attribute about every other pupil.

Wallwisher What is Wallwisher? A collaborative post it board Sticky notes added can be as simple as text only OR very creative with images, audio, video, SlideShares, Google Presentations, blog posts (basically almost anything you can link to via their URL)! And students don’t need to have an account to use it!
Wallwisher Expanding Sentences Example Energy Resources by AlessioBernardelli Hot and Cold Deserts
How Can Wallwisher Be Used? Language Arts Figurative Language: after reading a text, students post stickies containing examples of figurative language from the text. Character Traits: students post evidence from the story to verify a story character’s traits. Great Leads: post a writing topic and have students write various introductory sentences for it. Word Choice: post several “bland” words and have students list synonyms that would be more interesting or descriptive.
How Can Wallwisher Be Used? Social StudiesCause and Effect: Why did certain events happen? What were the results of the events? Important Historical Figures/Point of View: students imagine they are the historical person and write comments that could have been made by that person. Compare and Contrast: post comments about how 2 events were similar or different
Blabberize Add your voice to a picture of your choosing The message can be recorded via microphone, audio file or by phone. You can create one account for the class. Multiply users can be on at once. I had trouble using this site on Firefox.

VoiceThread What is Voicethread?
VoiceThread Create an account for free (only get to make 3 VoiceThreads) Pay for class subscription ($60 for up to 100 students) With the free account – add students under your log in You can embed your Voicethreads or you can even export the thread to MP3 players

Animoto Lets you easily create photo and video slideshows matched to music.
Animoto Register for an educator account - this lets you create full length videos (longer than 30 seconds for free). ***Students must enter the access code when registering or else they do not get the full length option for free.
Animoto Students need individual email accounts to register. You create one GMail account – and have an email address for each student. You maintain control of the account. For example, I created a gmail account blaszakstudent@gmail.com. Students each have a valid email address by adding the following to the address: blaszakstudent+14@gmail.com
How Can Animoto Be Used In The Classroom? Back to school nights Language Arts classes to help students understand themes, characterization and symbolism For Vocabulary words Students must include in their video: The word The part of speech The definition At least two sentences An image relating to the word Book trailers
How Can Animoto Be Used In The Classroom? Alphabet Each student is assigned a letter from the alphabet and brings in an item that begins with that letter. Create a class video using pictures of the items brought in. To hook/engage the students at the beginning of a lesson. This video was used to introduce a unit on Sharecropping.
Glogster A wonderful creativity tool that allows students to demonstrate their knowledge. Glogster allows users to input text, pictures, graphics, video, and audio to create an interactive online poster. Glogs can be hosted by Glogster or you can embed it into a wiki, blog, or class web site.
Glogster You must register. It is free, and each student will have a log in. You can have up to 100 students in your account. From the teacher dashboard you can view and control all student activity.
