### Describing Simple Machines, their Characteristics and Uses.pptx

1. Describing Simple Machines, their Characteristics and Uses JENEFER AGUSTINA P. MAGORA TEACHER 3 MASI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
2. Learning Objectives  Describe the functions of simple machines.  Describe the functions, parts, and types of levers.  Cite examples of the different types of levers.
3. Simple Machines Simple machines make it easier for us to perform work and other activities.
4. Simple Machines  transfer force from one place to another change the direction of the force increase the magnitude of the force exerted increase the distance from which force is applied
5. Simple Machines Lever Pulley Inclined Plane Wedge Screw Wheel and Axle
6. Lever A lever has a long, stiff beam or bar resting, and a fulcrum. It is used to carry or lift heavy objects easily.
7. Parts of a Lever A lever consists of three main: the fulcrum, the load, and the effort.
8. Parts of a Lever The fulcrum is where the rod or beam pivots. The load refers to the weight carried by a lever. The effort is the force applied to do the action.
9. Types Class Lever First Class Lever The fulcrum is located between the load and effort.
10. Types Class Lever Second Class Lever The load is positioned between the fulcrum and the effort.
11. Types Class Lever Third Class Lever The effort is at the middle of the load and the fulcrum, which are at the opposite ends of the beam.
12. Summary Simple machines are objects that make activities and work easier for us. An example of this is the lever. Lever: Use ---- used to carry or lift heavy objects easily Lever: Parts ---- the fulcrum, the load, and the effort. Lever: Types ---- First class, second class, third class
