2. Spišská Nová Ves si an urban conservation
area since 1992.
It has got a lot of historically valuable
buildings.
Many of them are located on the historic
Town Hall Square, which is one of the most
beautiful squares in Slovakia and it is the
longest lenticular square in Europe.
3. Tower of this church was built in 1894.
It is the highest tower in Slovakia and it is 87 m
high.
This tower has got also many clock faces – 7,
that are driven by one clock mashine
The highest church tower provide tourists with
wonderful view of the town and surrounding areas.
In the church there are 5 bells (the biggest
diameter is 206 cm and weight 5320 kg.)
5. The Town Hall was built in 1779.
It was the center of all town life.
The most important place in Town Hall is the
Assembly Hall which is located in the middle
of the building and takes over two floors.
7. At the place where now stands the theatre
there was a pub in 1844.
Today, on one side of the building there is
the theatre and on the other side there is a
café and concert hall.
There are 300 seats in the theatre.

9. Province House building was the Town Hall
from the Middle Ages until 1777.
The most interesting part of the building is
the front facade which includes the gate for
pedestrians.
Between the windows there are 6 paintings
that depict the characteristics that a mayor
should have.

12. Gallery of Spiš artists was built in 1987,
focuses on the collection of works of art from
the region Spiš from the second half of the
19th century to the present.
They are paintings, sculptures, prints and
photographs in the number of over 1789
pieces.

our town
It is in the altitude of 634m above the sea
level
It is registred in the UNESCO monuments.
