EXPLAIN
READ When we think or our students entering High School this year we need to remember that: • They were born in 1993 • They don’t remember the Gulf War, • They weren’t born yet when the Space Shuttle blew Up • Their life time has always included AIDS • They were born after the Oakland fire • Bottle caps have always been screw-off and plastic • Vinyl albums predates them and the statement your sound like a broken record means nothing to them • They have never had a rotary dial telephone • There has always been VCRs, but they have no idea what BETA is • Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show. Johnny Carson and Jack Paar are unknown to them • They don’t know who Mork was or where he was from. - but you do! (ORK & Nanu Nanu & Robin Williams) As we plan for the future tomorrows we have to constantly realize that our students are part of a new century
