Glass has become an integral part of modern day architecture. It not only gives the
designers the choice of finish and a manifestation to their design aspirations but
also a wonderful chance to participate with the outside world.
Facade of buildings:
Glass ensures that the building gets ample natural light making interiors
look brighter reducing the need for artificial lighting and saving energy.
Energy efficient glasses, when used properly can reduce the
total energy consumption by anywhere between 10 percent of
the total energy consumed
GLASS FACADES USED IN
CONTEMPORARY BUILDINGS OF
GURUGRAM.
IS THIS ONLY BECAUSE OF
AESTHETICS?
GLASS TENSILE FABRIC
These energy efficient glasses provide the benefit of reducing the heat
gained in the buildings without compromising on the natural light coming
inside the building.
Typically the heat gained/lost through Glazing can be reduced down by 30 to 40 percent. The
incremental cost of the high performance glazing can be recovered in a time span of 3 to 4 years.
ACP PANELS STEEL
Facade of buildings:WHY THE STEEL
STRUCTURE IS
DOMINATED TO
FACADE?
It has become a predominant material in the
construction industry because it provides
designers with the freedom to develop fresh
structural solutions.
Steel truly allows the designers to shape and mold
the structure in every imaginable shape to reach
the design concept withought compromising the
overall strength of the structure.
The distinctive qualities of steel products such as
adaptability, beauty, cost-effectivity, durability
and ductility, make this metal the material of
choice for many engineers and architects.
It offers a stylish way of creating large, column-free interiors, thereby giving the building a sense of
openness. It’s also malleable, giving structural designers the freedom to explore ideas in terms of
creating stylish shapes and textures in order to make the building distinct.
GLASS TENSILE FABRIC
ACP PANELS STEEL
Facade of buildings:WHY ALUMINUM
COMPOSITE PANELS
(ACP) ARE CHOOSED
AS A FACADE
MATERIAL ?Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) are frequently used for
external cladding of buildings (building facades). The main
advantage of ACP is that, it is very rigid and strong, despite of
its light weight.
Due to the ability of painting the aluminum
in any color, ACPs comes in a wide range of
metallic and non-metallic colors & patterns.
It can be bent, cut,
drilled, punched
and easily shaped
into any possible
complex shape to
reach the design
concept with an
ease.
Sound and heat insulation properties of this material
cannot be ignored and result in a noise free zone
inside the building providing a workable atmosphere.
GLASS TENSILE FABRIC
ACP PANELS STEEL
Facade of buildings:
HOW TENSILE
FABRIC COME
INTO PLAY?
GLASS TENSILE FABRIC
ACP PANELS STEEL
With several different membranes in the market place such as
PTFF fiberglass, ETFE films, PVC, the durability and longevity of
the tensile membrane structure has been proven.
In daylight, fabric membrane translucency
offers soft diffused naturally lit spaces
reducing the interior lighting cost while at
night, artificial lighting creates an ambient
exterior luminescence.
Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) are frequently used for
external cladding of buildings (building facades). The main
advantage of ACP is that, it is very rigid and strong, despite
of its light weight.
Tensile fabric has low cost per square foot reducing the initial
cost of the structure.

and visitors to simply dash in and out of DLF Cyber city without any hassles.
•It lies near Udyog Vihar, which is a conventional industrial area on the opposite side of NH-8.
WEAKNESS
•The DLF phase 2 underpass, meant to reduce traffic congestion, has ended up adding to traffic chaos at Cyber
City as confused commuters often miss the turn leading to underpass and simply drive over the divider to cross
over too the road going towards New Delhi.
•The signage are poorly placed and very small, making it difficult for commuters to spot them.
THREATS
•No space for future expansion.
•Air pollution is a major threat which is produced by growing traffic inside the city.

  • 47. Glass has become an integral part of modern day architecture. It not only gives the designers the choice of finish and a manifestation to their design aspirations but also a wonderful chance to participate with the outside world. Facade of buildings: Glass ensures that the building gets ample natural light making interiors look brighter reducing the need for artificial lighting and saving energy. Energy efficient glasses, when used properly can reduce the total energy consumption by anywhere between 10 percent of the total energy consumed GLASS FACADES USED IN CONTEMPORARY BUILDINGS OF GURUGRAM. IS THIS ONLY BECAUSE OF AESTHETICS? GLASS TENSILE FABRIC These energy efficient glasses provide the benefit of reducing the heat gained in the buildings without compromising on the natural light coming inside the building. Typically the heat gained/lost through Glazing can be reduced down by 30 to 40 percent. The incremental cost of the high performance glazing can be recovered in a time span of 3 to 4 years. ACP PANELS STEEL
  • 48. Facade of buildings:WHY THE STEEL STRUCTURE IS DOMINATED TO FACADE? It has become a predominant material in the construction industry because it provides designers with the freedom to develop fresh structural solutions. Steel truly allows the designers to shape and mold the structure in every imaginable shape to reach the design concept withought compromising the overall strength of the structure. The distinctive qualities of steel products such as adaptability, beauty, cost-effectivity, durability and ductility, make this metal the material of choice for many engineers and architects. It offers a stylish way of creating large, column-free interiors, thereby giving the building a sense of openness. It’s also malleable, giving structural designers the freedom to explore ideas in terms of creating stylish shapes and textures in order to make the building distinct. GLASS TENSILE FABRIC ACP PANELS STEEL
  • 49. Facade of buildings:WHY ALUMINUM COMPOSITE PANELS (ACP) ARE CHOOSED AS A FACADE MATERIAL ?Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) are frequently used for external cladding of buildings (building facades). The main advantage of ACP is that, it is very rigid and strong, despite of its light weight. Due to the ability of painting the aluminum in any color, ACPs comes in a wide range of metallic and non-metallic colors & patterns. It can be bent, cut, drilled, punched and easily shaped into any possible complex shape to reach the design concept with an ease. Sound and heat insulation properties of this material cannot be ignored and result in a noise free zone inside the building providing a workable atmosphere. GLASS TENSILE FABRIC ACP PANELS STEEL
  • 50. Facade of buildings: HOW TENSILE FABRIC COME INTO PLAY? GLASS TENSILE FABRIC ACP PANELS STEEL With several different membranes in the market place such as PTFF fiberglass, ETFE films, PVC, the durability and longevity of the tensile membrane structure has been proven. In daylight, fabric membrane translucency offers soft diffused naturally lit spaces reducing the interior lighting cost while at night, artificial lighting creates an ambient exterior luminescence. Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) are frequently used for external cladding of buildings (building facades). The main advantage of ACP is that, it is very rigid and strong, despite of its light weight. Tensile fabric has low cost per square foot reducing the initial cost of the structure.
