2. Riga Castle – one of the finest
medieval castles in Latvia.

3. The existing castle was built on the
foundation of the old castle during 1491. -
1515

4. The castle walls are around 3 meters
thick. Castle square lenght is about
53 – 57 meters.

5. 11.November 1988. – The Latvian
national flag was raised in the castle
tower.

6. Since 1994. the castle is the residence of
the President of Latvia
