2. High key images are often bright and convey positive,
happy atmospheres. To create a high key image, the
exposure levels of the camera must be at high values.
High key images don’t usually have a lot of shadows
as they are bright.
Low key images are often dark and create a
dramatic atmosphere. Low key images display a
great deal of contrast. A lot of shadows are
present in low key lighting. Low key lighting
displays a contrast between light and dark as
light is used to emphasize the contour of the
shape.
3. Three point lighting includes the lighting the
subject from three points using a key light, a fill
light and a back light. Using three point lighting,
the photographer can light the subject clearly
and control the amount of shadow. Therefore
the photographer can create a specific mood
using both light and shadow.
A lighting with strong contrasts
between light and dark. Usually used
to create volume in the image to make
the subject almost stand out of the
page.
4. Natural lighting is often used in
outdoor images and the main light
source is the sun or outdoor light.
Natural lighting images often
appear soft and
convey positive connotations.
Due to one of my photo-shoots being outdoor I
will be likely to use this lighting. I can adjust
camera settings to suit outdoor conditions to
get the best quality images possible.
