graph it is obvious
that most of the
people that
answered my
questionnaire were
females. However
some males also
took part which
meant that I have
obtained
information on
what the different
genders like from
teaser trailers and
also their movie
going habits.
 This graph highlights that
the age range that will be
most interested in my
teaser trailer is between
sixteen and eighteen
years old. This tells me
that the movie my trailer
is promoting will be able
to have a fifteen
classification or eighteen
classification. This age
group lets me do a wide
range of things in my
teaser trailer such as
violence and horror.
 After collecting these
results, it is clear that
my target audience is
most interested in
horror and action
movies. This
information will allow
me to understand my
target audience better
and highlights what
they expect from a
movie trailer and what
type of movies these
prefer.
 Asking my target
audience what attracts
them most to a movie
will indicate to me what
characteristics of a
teaser trailer I need to
develop in my trailer.
From collating my
results it is obvious that
the majority of my
audience is drawn to
the plot of the movie,
highlighting that I
should focus on the
plot in the teaser trailer.
Actors/actresses are
also the most popular
which indicates that I
should cast
recognisable people in
my movie and focus on
who stars in it.
 After collating my results
it was obvious that most
of my target audience are
made aware of new
releases through the
television and internet.
This indicates that teaser
trailers are shown on the
television and across
social media that incites
the viewer and urges them
to see the movie. The
second most popular
choice was
magazines/newspapers
indicating that the movie
posters are advertised in
these which encourage
people to go watch the
new release.
 From my
questionnaire I can
see that the
majority of my
target audience
watch movies from
Netflix which is
online. This
indicates to me
that I should post
my teaser trailer
online onto a
movie site such as
Netflix as it is the
most popular with
my target group.
 My target audience has
indicated to me that they
usually attend the cinema
annually or once every
month. This is probably
due to the rise in online
streaming and apps that
allow you to watch movies
from home. I think people
only go to the cinema
when there is something
specific they want to see
and don’t go on routinely
visits. The time I release
my teaser trailer is crucial
and it should be done
when there is a popular
movie out in the cinema
so lots of people will see
it. It is now my goal to
capture these individuals
and encourage them to
see my movie in the
cinema.
 This pie chart indicates that
the majority of my target
audience enjoy watching
teaser trailers. This could be
because they are intriguing
and excite the audience.
However one person
indicated that they did not
like watching teaser trailers,
this could be because they
give too much of the movie
away and only show the
good parts. This is a
challenge to me to not give
too much of the movie plot
away during my trailer. Also
I want to get all of my target
audience anticipating the
release of my trailer.
 This question highlighted to
me the most important
characteristics of a movie
trailer based on the views of
my target audience. After
collating my results I
discovered that my audience
believe that the plot of my
movie should shine through
my teaser trailer. I should
follow this advice as it will
encourage others to see my
movie. The next most popular
answers were the
actors/actresses. Throughout
my teaser trailer I should
introduce my audience to the
different characters. This
would intrigue them into
watching my teaser trailer
because they believe these are
the most important aspects to
get across

Target Audience Insights for Horror Movie Teaser Trailer

  • 2.  From this pie graph it is obvious that most of the people that answered my questionnaire were females. However some males also took part which meant that I have obtained information on what the different genders like from teaser trailers and also their movie going habits.
  • 3.  This graph highlights that the age range that will be most interested in my teaser trailer is between sixteen and eighteen years old. This tells me that the movie my trailer is promoting will be able to have a fifteen classification or eighteen classification. This age group lets me do a wide range of things in my teaser trailer such as violence and horror.
  • 4.  After collecting these results, it is clear that my target audience is most interested in horror and action movies. This information will allow me to understand my target audience better and highlights what they expect from a movie trailer and what type of movies these prefer.
  • 5.  Asking my target audience what attracts them most to a movie will indicate to me what characteristics of a teaser trailer I need to develop in my trailer. From collating my results it is obvious that the majority of my audience is drawn to the plot of the movie, highlighting that I should focus on the plot in the teaser trailer. Actors/actresses are also the most popular which indicates that I should cast recognisable people in my movie and focus on who stars in it.
  • 6.  After collating my results it was obvious that most of my target audience are made aware of new releases through the television and internet. This indicates that teaser trailers are shown on the television and across social media that incites the viewer and urges them to see the movie. The second most popular choice was magazines/newspapers indicating that the movie posters are advertised in these which encourage people to go watch the new release.
  • 7.  From my questionnaire I can see that the majority of my target audience watch movies from Netflix which is online. This indicates to me that I should post my teaser trailer online onto a movie site such as Netflix as it is the most popular with my target group.
  • 8.  My target audience has indicated to me that they usually attend the cinema annually or once every month. This is probably due to the rise in online streaming and apps that allow you to watch movies from home. I think people only go to the cinema when there is something specific they want to see and don’t go on routinely visits. The time I release my teaser trailer is crucial and it should be done when there is a popular movie out in the cinema so lots of people will see it. It is now my goal to capture these individuals and encourage them to see my movie in the cinema.
  • 9.  This pie chart indicates that the majority of my target audience enjoy watching teaser trailers. This could be because they are intriguing and excite the audience. However one person indicated that they did not like watching teaser trailers, this could be because they give too much of the movie away and only show the good parts. This is a challenge to me to not give too much of the movie plot away during my trailer. Also I want to get all of my target audience anticipating the release of my trailer.
  • 10.  This question highlighted to me the most important characteristics of a movie trailer based on the views of my target audience. After collating my results I discovered that my audience believe that the plot of my movie should shine through my teaser trailer. I should follow this advice as it will encourage others to see my movie. The next most popular answers were the actors/actresses. Throughout my teaser trailer I should introduce my audience to the different characters. This would intrigue them into watching my teaser trailer because they believe these are the most important aspects to get across
