Archives 2.0 is not a passing fad, just adding web 2.0 to archives, or something only for the future or tech-savvy people. Archives 2.0 is a natural evolution from Archives 1.0, moving from closed and archivist-centered practices to being more open, transparent, user-centered, and using technology and standards. It focuses on measuring outcomes and impacts, and sees archivists as facilitators valued for what they do, rather than authorities valued for what they know.
