The Story of My Life Essay
This explains the beginning of my life all the way to the end of my life. My life from the
beginning was very fun as I grew up living with my mom's friend and my friend. But there were a
lot of fights and I was very hyper back then. I have ADHD so back then when I was little; I was
very hyper and wouldn't stop moving around the place. I always was annoying back then and
never seemed to get my homework done at school. I was born at Kaiser Hospital during the year
1996. The first place I lived was on the street Via Harriet and was right next to a train. It was
always noisy when the train passed by because it shook the house and scared all the animals. It
wasn't the best place to live, but we eventually moved to the hills, I don't remember...show more

Overall I know that I'm going to graduate because I'm pushing hard and all I need to finish is my
Cyber High and keep up my grades and I will graduate. I want to go to Chabot College because it's
the closest place to go to. I am planning to get my associates degree then transfer to Cal State East
Bay University. I don't exactly know the requirements of classes to get into Cal State, but as long
as I get my AA degree I should be fine. I am focused on technology and computers; I like to choose
classes that can be similar to wiring or soldering. I am not that sure if I would be more focused on
computers or wiring, I think an Internship might help me out. My career would be Technician or
Electrician because I'm focused on electricity and wanting to discover what would happen
without getting electrocuted. I'm still unsure if I just want to work on physical components on
the computer. I used to work on computers a lot, but it got boring and I can't do it as great now.
Soldering is interesting for me because I get to repair broken wires, being able to strip a wire.
When striping a wire, you get to know how the wire is connected. I think a life event for me is to
grab my master's degree, which is what I'm focused on. That's like the best degree to get, but it's
really difficult to receive. I wouldn't like going to years and years of education, but it's totally worth
it. Getting a higher degree affects the amount

My Experience With Diversity And Diversity
As I reflect over my life, I appreciate the many diverse experiences I've came to encounter. My
experience with diversity dates back to birth. I am from a small rural town, Moss Point, MS. and
notably the last state to abolish slavery. The town currently has a population of 13,704 people and
consists of 73% Blacks or African Americans, 23% Caucasian, 1% Hispanic or Latino and 1%
bi–racial.
Regardless of my town's homogeneous population, I grew up accepting diversity and valuing
individual differences even amid the same racial group. One of the first experiences of diversity I
can vividly recall is the various religious beliefs within the Black community. My parents believed
"exposure to the world around you" was one of the primary factors for raising a well–rounded
individual. Therefore, we often visited different churches of various faiths.
Within my own family, there were different doctrines. My great–grandmother was Pentecostal, my
grandmother is a Baptist and my mother is an Atheist. While everyone seemed to have different
belief systems, I participated in them all. I had to learn to adapt to each religious institution. In one
church I was allowed to wear pants and women could also be pastors; whereas, in another, women
could only wear full length dresses and were not allowed in the pulpit.
Nonetheless, my parents consistently reiterated the world is comprised of many different races and
complexities, which in turn make the universe a beautiful place. They stressed

Life Course Perspective Essay
Introduction Personal lifestyle choices can be influenced by the family of origin, peers, social
movements, and global revolutions, and can have a positive or negative life–long impact. A
COUPLE OF SENTENCES DEFINING THE LIFE COURSE PERSPECTIVE AND HOW/WHY IT
IS USEFUL IN UNDERSTANDING OLDER ADULTS. Based on an in
–depth qualitative interview,
this paper will include an analysis of lifestyle choices and trajectories, particularly how human
agency and cohort effects, have impacted the life course of my interviewee Chris (Christine).
Possessing excellent health for her age group, Chris is soon to enter retirement. With a
chronological age of 68, she blames her functional age of 30 on her genetic makeup and lifestyle.

Though the job was not well paid, Mitchell held the same position until he retired. Hard work,
obedience and loyalty were salient to people from his cohort. In 1950s in Massachusetts an
average family income was $4,178. At the same time, the average household expenditures had
increased to $3,946 (Chao & Utgoff, 2006). But Mitchell did not want Gladys to work, as his own
mother was working when he was a child, so he did some woodworking in addition to his main
job to get some extra cash. In 1953, he bought a piece of land and built a house, so the family
could move to more spacious home. At age of 10 Chris got her first summer job as a babysitter,
so she could earn a little money and buy clothes for herself. Clothing was the third largest
category of spending for a household in the 1950s, requiring 11.1% of all household income
(Chao & Utgoff, 2006). As a teenager she decided to work after school to start saving money: she
was selling ice cream in a cousin's dairy shop, and, later worked at the local grocery store. Even
though her generation–the Baby Boom Generation– had a big impact on overall labor force
participation of teenagers and young adults according to Hipple and Mosisa (2006), her personal
agency and not parental urging contributed to these choices. None of her siblings worked until
coming of age, even though according to Chris, "it was easy to get a job." At age of 18, her sister

My Experience In My Life
My life, or perhaps in the manner that I perceive it, has been overwhelmingly filled with enlightening
and repressive circumstances that could have been averted, but all in all, makes up one's destiny.
These events intricately tailored me into a young man that grew conscientious of the detrimental
behavior of "acting before thinking" and into the realm of "thinking before acting". What I would
soon come to understand was that through sheer patience, and trial–and–error it instilled within me
new insights to learn from and that the most triumphant moments in my life began at the crossroads
of unknowingness, a decision to stay in mediocrity, or the pursuit towards personal greatness– thus
the decision had to be met.
In the fall season of 2006, I was a student at Saint John Vianney, a relatively small parochial school.
During that time period, I was an immensely nervous 6th grader that was forced to immerse himself
into a Roman Catholic private school that had me sharply at odds with what I had experienced from
schooling in the Folsom Cordova Unified public–school district (Kindergarten to 5th grade). It's
important to know that I was sent here by my parents as a way of disciplining me due to, in their
opinion, abhorrent behavior that medically could have stemmed from ADD, but perhaps I was just
restless and explorative.
The very first moment I shared with another soul was by the connective link of vision with a female
student, by the name of Scarlett. This young girl (of

HEART/HAND/HEAD
Everything in life happens for a reason and nothing happens by happenstance, chance or luck. I
believe our life experiences can bring us many different learning opportunities if taken. Which can
bring about a great wisdom and knowledge to help oneself or others in life. The Heart, Hand, Head
are all very vital parts of the body both Naturally & Spiritually and without these organs or parts we
would not be able to survive. Starting with the "Heart" spiritually it brings about love, trust,
forgiveness, honesty, and conviction (Example) John 3:16 "For God so loved the world he gave his
only begotten son, for whom so ever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
Naturally without a heart one cannot breathe or function at all and would be an empty shell for one
cannot operate or function without it.
My transformation began about 12 years ago. Now isn't that interesting a preacher's daughter who
was born and raised into ministry wasn't truly transformed until my late twenties "Odd"? Maybe (or)
maybe not! Because of my own stubbornness and pride I went through about 8–9 years of trials and
tribulations brought upon myself. Now, don't get me wrong I was exceling in life at work,
business ownership and socially. I thought I had it all and that I was responsible for it all as I soon
realized "NOT
SO". Once things became tough in life and the feeling of emptiness and the void became so intense

My Life My Journey Essay
As a very small child I don't remember too much, but the things that I do remember were seen
through a child's eyes that has made me the person that I am today and I will always have those
memory's with me until my last breath on this earth. In this essay I intend to show how my
childhood and adult life to this point has influenced my life, my journey. By utilizing the adult
development theories from this class I also intend on showing how they relate to my Life
experiences and where I am today as an Adult student.
Its funny how as a child you look at things. As time passes, those same child memories become life
experiences as an adult. It is stated that Environmental assessment is closely related to the impact

I lost my little brother in 1982 at age 22 in an accident at my parent's home. Robbie was taking
down a C.B. antenna and it struck a high power line that ran into the local General Motors plant.
Robbie was killed instantly. As Erickson's stated in his psychosocial development theory, "which
refers to the development within the social environment in which a person lives, primarily
focusing on relationships with other people" (Simanowitz & Pearce. 2003). This had brought
back memories of how my relationship was when we were little. I was always kind of upset with
Robbie because he was one of those kids that had that natural athletic ability. Robbie could run
faster and throw better, do everything better when it came to sports, but the real reason I was
mad at Robbie most of my childhood life was because every time something went wrong, I always
got the blame and in trouble. Mom would say "You're older you should have known better" Yes
she was right most of the time I did know better. I was the middle child and I was always the one
that got into trouble even though Robbie might have done it first. I had a good childhood for the
most part, I can't remember not doing without the things that I really needed as a child. Things like
clothes, food, shelter and love from a family. I recall having my favorite things

Life Experience Analysis
There is one thing that we could do good to learn in our own life. What I am talking about is the
fact that life experiences change us and make us think, act, and feel differently than before. What
you might be thinking is that there is no way we can be changed by a "life experience". Well I have
two little examples from some good books of mine that will change your mind about that.
First example, For those of you who have read it remember in The adventures of Tom Sawyer by
Mark Twain when he was painting the fence? For those who are lost, there is a scene where Tom
(the main character) is painting a fence on a Saturday we can all see that he hates it but the gears in
his clever little mind start working and he soon figures out that by making...show more content...
The book "Home" is our next example that we will be taking from. Okay now I am going to tell
you about the book so we are starting on the same foot, if have already read the book I don't care
just skip this part. So the father in the book has a little problem his son is smoking and he gets
those cigars by stealing them from his father so when he calls his son in to have a talk with him
about stealing and smoking his son will not listen to him and acts like it is no big deal. The father
soon figures out that if he wants to get through to his son he needs to be simple and naive. He
achieves this by telling his son a story about a kingdom that fell apart because one man smoked. He
learned that children think simply and don't understand the disciplining that adults use. He now
understands his son better and could teach him the right and wrongs of the world.
Now some of may be saying " okay you convinced me but Tom's change seemed bad while the
father in Homes change seemed good so do life experiences work both ways". Well whether the
change is good or bad is a whole different dog collar that can be talked about at a later time. But I
can say that Tom's change was most defiantly bad because he can now talk people into doing his
work or doing something dumb while on the other hand the fathers change was good, he could now
understand his son and other

Essay On My Life Experience
Each day we all experience things that are extraordinary and sometimes unforgettable. Yet it's
how we let those experiences impact us individually that makes us each unique. An experience in
my life that changed how I acted, thought, and felt was the first time I volunteered at my church
during their summer "scamp" sessions. The "scamp" sessions aimed to make the lessons
correlate to things the kids would do during summer camps. Serving at one of these session
allowed the year round volunteers to continue serving if they wanted, but also have the ability to
take a vacation and enjoy the church's service. Although life offers a multitude of life changing
experiences, serving at Mecklenburg Community Church for the first time was greatest
experience because I gained connections in my community, learned strong leadership skills and
gained a desire to serve others first. It all began when I attended my first "scamp" session and I
had several opportunities for jobs outside of the church over the summer and translating into the
school year. The first time I served at Meck I was able to meet and be introduced to three families
at the church who later reached out to me for weekly opportunities to work with their kids. In
seeing the kids both in and outside of church over the summer "scamps" I gained more insight of
their lives and personalities. One specific family that I met the first time I volunteered was the
Harris family. I made a close bond with their youngest daughter

Memorable Experience Essay
Throughout life I have had many memorable events. The memorable times in my life vary from
being the worst times in my life and some being the best, either way they have become milestones
that will be remembered forever. The best day of my life was definitely the day that I received my
drivers' license. This day is one of the most memorable because of the feelings I had when I
received it, the opportunities that were opened up for me and the long lasting benefits that I received
from it that still exist today. Getting my drivers' license was an intense feeling that I will never
forget. Just knowing that I had a drivers' license made me feel so free, as free as a bird flying in the

Driving fast in a car may be unsafe but the thrill and excitement of high rates of speed gave me a
rush I had never felt before. Seeing, feeling and hearing everything go by faster made the whole
driving experience so much better. My mouth watered with envy as I approached the drivers' seat
every time I went out for a drive. The automobile, as a whole, became a high interest of mine; the
styling, the sound and the speed of it. I loved driving and I loved cars and all of this new found
love was from the birth of my drivers' license. Such a simple piece of paper opened up such a
broad area of learning for me; it was of much amazement to me. Receiving my drivers' license was
the best day of my life. It will be remembered forever because of the feelings, experience and new
beginnings that it gave me. Today, I still hold my interest in the automobile but the thrill of
driving has dulled significantly since I receive many traffic tickets and went through a period of
license suspension. But, still, that day remains the best day of my life. The day I received my
drivers' license will never be forgotten for as long as I

Personal Experience with Crisis We have all experience some form of crisis in our life. Whether it
is minor or more severe, it is something that many of us can not control. A crisis can involve a
series of stressful events or one difficult point in life that effects a person's overall well–being. I had
a hard time coming up with what to write as my crisis for this assignment because when I hear the
word crisis, the first thing that comes to mind is that crisis is a very severe event such as a war
or natural disaster. As I read more in depth about the concept of crisis, I found that it does not have
to be something as serious as a war. It can simply be a point in life where you face a difficult

Although some may not consider this a crisis, it was for me. This was a crisis for me because I
moved from Ghana where the culture, language, people and overall atmosphere was different. The
transition to move to a different country and learn a new culture and language was a stressful and
difficult time in my life. I felt alone and out of place because I did not have friends and when I
did, I could not understand or make a conversation with them for a long time. The phase in the crisis
cycle most relatable to my experience is phase 2 – The intensification stage. In this phase,
individuals feel a loss of internal control causing frustration, fear and anger. This stage is most
relevant to my experience because I felt frustrated and a loss of internal control. What caused this
crisis was me moving to Canada and not knowing the culture or English. I would not have
experienced the crisis if I knew English and Canadian culture. Due to my circumstances, there was
nothing I could have done to stop the crisis from happening. The behaviour of my peers and people
around me during the crisis was both positive and negative, I was bullied and felt that my class
mates were judging me for my accent

My College Experience
Throughout my lifetime I have listened to people reflect back on their college experiences and
explain how college is supposed to be "the best experience of your life." The summer after my senior
year I use to try and imagine what my first semester was going to be like based on what I had heard
people talk about in the past. After my first semester at NC State I realized that I couldn't fully
understand what college was like until I experienced it for myself. My first couple of weeks at
Ohio State was rough and really tested my strength (mental and physical). I faced challenges and
obstacles that I had never heard about in those past college experience conversations. All of a

assignment because I didn't properly read my syllabus and my professor never mentioned it. These
were all new problems that could have easily let escalate without taking the proper actions. For the
most part I was doing fairly well but a few of my grades began to plummet. I was losing the
confidence in myself and started to wonder if going to college had been the best decision. The time
had come for me to grow up and become an adult even I didn't feel the time was right. I immediately
began attending tutoring sessions, working with peers and also keeping a daily to–do list. These
factors were the eventually led to drastic improvement and success. After my first semester I
learned how better manage my time, take advantage of campus resources and also how to organize
myself better. These struggles also taught me that sometimes I try and rush through things instead
of taking my time. I realized that one of my strong points is being able to really do well when my
back is against the wall. Although I was unhappy while facing obstacles I am happy I experienced
them. I believe this experience was the reason for my

My last year in college, changed the whole course of my life. Near the end of my junior year, I
befriended a guy, who never would become my boyfriend. I knew he was infatuated with me, so I
lead him on. He ended up stalking me and making several death threats. I never understood the
phrase "in fear of your life", until then. Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) got involved but there
wasn't much they could do except file a police report and wait. This was a very frightening time
in my life and consequently I became very disconnected with life. I never provided TPD with my
stalker's name, in fear that he would kill me if I did. I moved to a different apartment complex

making more serious death threats against me and my family if I didn't leave Tallahassee.
I had a mental breakdown after the last death threat and I left Florida State University my senior year,
I went back home to deal with my traumatic ordeal. I quickly transferred to Florida International

The three things that have made the biggest impact on and have influenced my life that shaped
me into the person I am today are family background, experiences from my school year, and
religious beliefs. Our culture provides a lens through which we view the world and interpret our
everyday experiences. In order to know who I am today, I must look at who you've been. Many
educators around the country are interested in developing a multicultural approach in their teaching.
They find themselves in classrooms with 25 children of varying racial and cultural backgrounds,
and are looking for ways to connect what they do in the classroom to the cultures represented by
their students. Before we can begin to understand others, however, we need to understand ourselves
and what we bring to our interactions with others. Every time we engage with our surroundings we
create an experience both consciously and unconsciously. Our live experiences whether traumatic or
joyful shape who we are over time. An experience that has defined the person I am today is my
journey I went through as a child traveling back and forth from the United States to Mexico as an
undocumented. If a child has an impact when moving into a new house and neighborhood imagine

Life Experience Essay
Life is full of exciting experiences for us to enjoy. However, these experiences are meant to teach
life lessons that should remain with us. In my 17 years of living, I have had many lessons to be
learned from events I have gone through. One of those lessons sticks out above the rest and it has a
humorous story to go along with it.
The story starts out with the group planning a get together while eating breakfast at Mcdonald's.
Ideas were flowing out of our heads like a river. We could not agree on a plan of action for the
longest time. Finally, it was decided that we should go to Kenzie's house after she said her dad
would cook for us. I was immediately down for that idea because I knew her dad makes the best
chicken wings ever. The rest of the day for me was spent thinking about what to wear that night.
Eventually, the time came for heading over to Kenzie's house. Bailey, another girl in the group,
asked me to give her a ride since she did not have her driver's license. Because of this, we were
one of the last ones to make it to Kenzie's. In the time that we missed the group decided that they
wanted to go and toilet paper some of our friend's houses that lived close to Kenzie. I had never
done something like this before. However, the excitement of doing this and avoid being caught
appealed to me. We all piled into the cars and headed to Wal–Mart to buy the toilet paper. We had an
interesting event that happened to us while we were in Wal–Mart. The event was when

To me, life is a pretty ironic thing; it has a way of introducing you to the things you want, but
keeps it just out of your reach. As we grow and go through life experiences, both good and bad, we
as humans always seem to take some form of realization or some truth from each experience. The
difference amongst all of us is whether or not we take these truths and make something of them.

An Experience that changed my Life
Life is full of learning and it is mostly due to our daily life experiences. These experiences are
mostly based on our surrounding environment from where we learn new things every day. But all
these experiences are a result of our keen observations out of daily routines. It is very important to
note that life also provides us with some chances to experience new people or places that are indeed
out of the ordinary. That is thetime we indeed learn new and unique things, hence these are unique
experiences of our life which are remembered by us throughout our life span. I have visited USA
and this was indeed a life time experience. Going through new and strikingly important things really
made me filled up with pleasure. It was indeed very joyful and marvelous experience. I am very
happy and expecting many more things and unique experience coming my way and making me
enjoy new and exciting things.
USA is a place which is full of new experiences that is what makes it even more exciting due to all
kinds of diversity in food in recreation and work; hence everything here is much more diverse

An Experience That Changed My Life Essay
Introduction:
In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that
change a person's perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned
from. In my case it wasn't necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on
life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just
as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and
treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general
definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because
of a dog that entered my life.

The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to

was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn't looking she would run
in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out on the counter. One time I remember ordering
Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another
piece he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise
Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this funny, but there were plenty of nights
when we couldn't get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog,
she was also aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn't stop
her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the house, and within 1 second we
would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping
off the bed. Times were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day
Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her to the chain and going back
in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, "Come get

My Life Experience Essay
My life has been a crazy roller coaster with many events that have affected my life all in different
ways. There have been times where my life has been at its highest peak in the world then it falls
down, right into a deep valley. From the time my lovable younger sister came into my life to
when my grandpa had a near death experience, I have learned many valuable lessons through the
rough times as well as the more happy times. When I was a young girl, my mom had always told
me the same thing over and over again. I never really thought about how a few words would have
a deep effect on me in a short amount of time. I was around 8 or 9 when my mom first told me
"Don't take anyone for granted." I sat in my bedroom and looked at my mom extensively asking
her "What do you mean?." Sitting in the beige colored room with the glowing light pointing
towards her, I questioned her for a good couple minutes. Being the little girl I was, I didn't know
what the immense word "granted" meant. After the short and quick conversation with my mom, the
words she said had been stuck in the back of mind for a long time. The saying popped up in my
mind here and there, but it has not effected me at least not yet. Over the summer my grandpa
decided to go to Vietnam to visit some family he hadn't seen in a long time. Prior to going, he knew
his health wasn't in the best condition but he still vowed to go. Once there, he began to feel very
sick. Days went by since my family has heard from him until

shattered across my windshield. Trying to move as the pain began jolting through my body. A
surprised voice grabbed my attention as I became conscious, he was telling me to stay still as the
sound of the saw ate away at my door. I realized then that I was in a terrible car accident,
somehow, I survived. This was the moment that changed my life, the moment that Jesus took the
wheel. Hours prior to that I sat alone; sad, angry and dumbfounded. How could a man I've loved
for 17 years love someone else? Thoughts flooded my mind as I tried drowning my pain with
every bottle that hit my lips. Tears flowing down my face as I slowly began to slip away, wanting
to forget every lie and hoping to erase all the years I sat blinded. The feeling of every breath
escaping me as the couch felt like the only comfort I had. Then the day came that I stood before the
judge as he sentenced me in 60–days in the county jail. I had just kissed my kid's goodbye outside, I
didn't want them to see me handcuffed and taken away. Watching their eyes fill up with
confusion and sadness broke every part of my heart that remained. Explaining to them that I did
something bad and needed to be punished was something I felt ashamed of, especially that I would
be absent from their lives was by far my greatest struggle. I just knew that I had to rise from this and
come back stronger than the person I was before, to be a better mother, daughter and someone I
could be proud of. My sister asked me if I was afraid to go to jail, if I was going to cry. I told her that
I would only cry because I was sad to leave my kids and could only imagine how they felt, but
afraid was something I wasn't. She looked at me baffled, I told her, "God has a plan for me, I
could feel it and I don't know what it is all I know is that its inside those walls, He will protect
me". To avoid a year's sentence, I was placed in the R.I.S.E unit (Recovery in secure environment),
a program designed for women who are suffering from addiction. Every day we would sit in groups,
mostly taught by us inmates and every other day we would have a trauma therapist come visit. It
was an intense program

Personal Narrative My Life Essay
Personal Narrative My Life
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I
wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I
entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that
college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I
go instead of someone choosing for me.
I have chosen to go to the local community college to get used to the college experience. College
life can be an exciting time but at the same time it can be a challenge. I feel that starting out at the
community college would be a better chose than "jumping" into life at a...show more content...
I know this is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a positive influence in the lives of
children. I want to be able to stand up and show the children that it is okay to be yourself and
stand up for what you believe in. I am a well round student. For nine years I was actively involved
in a girls organization. This experience taught me many things. We were actively involved in
community service activities, for which I received the Silver Award. ( The second highest award
in the organization.) I learned about the value of friendship and patients with others. This
organization first introduced me to my future career. I was also involved for three and a half years
in a student government club on campus. In this club I learned many life lessons. One of which
was the value of hard work. I was one of the few people that organized the Junior/Senior Prom of
2000. My responsibilities included planning corranation, buying and organizing decorations,
planning the busing schedule, booking the photographers, fundraising, ect. This taught me about
hard work. But the best part of it was going to Prom knowing I was one of the only reasons that it
happened. As far as school goes, my schedule is very diverse. I am taking child development lab,
which is a class where students from my high school can go to the local elementary schools and
work one on one with the students. I have work in the elementary school for two and a half years. I

Life Experience Essay Sample

  • 1. The Story of My Life Essay This explains the beginning of my life all the way to the end of my life. My life from the beginning was very fun as I grew up living with my mom's friend and my friend. But there were a lot of fights and I was very hyper back then. I have ADHD so back then when I was little; I was very hyper and wouldn't stop moving around the place. I always was annoying back then and never seemed to get my homework done at school. I was born at Kaiser Hospital during the year 1996. The first place I lived was on the street Via Harriet and was right next to a train. It was always noisy when the train passed by because it shook the house and scared all the animals. It wasn't the best place to live, but we eventually moved to the hills, I don't remember...show more content... Overall I know that I'm going to graduate because I'm pushing hard and all I need to finish is my Cyber High and keep up my grades and I will graduate. I want to go to Chabot College because it's the closest place to go to. I am planning to get my associates degree then transfer to Cal State East Bay University. I don't exactly know the requirements of classes to get into Cal State, but as long as I get my AA degree I should be fine. I am focused on technology and computers; I like to choose classes that can be similar to wiring or soldering. I am not that sure if I would be more focused on computers or wiring, I think an Internship might help me out. My career would be Technician or Electrician because I'm focused on electricity and wanting to discover what would happen without getting electrocuted. I'm still unsure if I just want to work on physical components on the computer. I used to work on computers a lot, but it got boring and I can't do it as great now. Soldering is interesting for me because I get to repair broken wires, being able to strip a wire. When striping a wire, you get to know how the wire is connected. I think a life event for me is to grab my master's degree, which is what I'm focused on. That's like the best degree to get, but it's really difficult to receive. I wouldn't like going to years and years of education, but it's totally worth it. Getting a higher degree affects the amount Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Experience With Diversity And Diversity As I reflect over my life, I appreciate the many diverse experiences I've came to encounter. My experience with diversity dates back to birth. I am from a small rural town, Moss Point, MS. and notably the last state to abolish slavery. The town currently has a population of 13,704 people and consists of 73% Blacks or African Americans, 23% Caucasian, 1% Hispanic or Latino and 1% bi–racial. Regardless of my town's homogeneous population, I grew up accepting diversity and valuing individual differences even amid the same racial group. One of the first experiences of diversity I can vividly recall is the various religious beliefs within the Black community. My parents believed "exposure to the world around you" was one of the primary factors for raising a well–rounded individual. Therefore, we often visited different churches of various faiths. Within my own family, there were different doctrines. My great–grandmother was Pentecostal, my grandmother is a Baptist and my mother is an Atheist. While everyone seemed to have different belief systems, I participated in them all. I had to learn to adapt to each religious institution. In one church I was allowed to wear pants and women could also be pastors; whereas, in another, women could only wear full length dresses and were not allowed in the pulpit. Nonetheless, my parents consistently reiterated the world is comprised of many different races and complexities, which in turn make the universe a beautiful place. They stressed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Life Course Perspective Essay Introduction Personal lifestyle choices can be influenced by the family of origin, peers, social movements, and global revolutions, and can have a positive or negative life–long impact. A COUPLE OF SENTENCES DEFINING THE LIFE COURSE PERSPECTIVE AND HOW/WHY IT IS USEFUL IN UNDERSTANDING OLDER ADULTS. Based on an in –depth qualitative interview, this paper will include an analysis of lifestyle choices and trajectories, particularly how human agency and cohort effects, have impacted the life course of my interviewee Chris (Christine). Possessing excellent health for her age group, Chris is soon to enter retirement. With a chronological age of 68, she blames her functional age of 30 on her genetic makeup and lifestyle. Her mother, Gladys,...show more content... Though the job was not well paid, Mitchell held the same position until he retired. Hard work, obedience and loyalty were salient to people from his cohort. In 1950s in Massachusetts an average family income was $4,178. At the same time, the average household expenditures had increased to $3,946 (Chao & Utgoff, 2006). But Mitchell did not want Gladys to work, as his own mother was working when he was a child, so he did some woodworking in addition to his main job to get some extra cash. In 1953, he bought a piece of land and built a house, so the family could move to more spacious home. At age of 10 Chris got her first summer job as a babysitter, so she could earn a little money and buy clothes for herself. Clothing was the third largest category of spending for a household in the 1950s, requiring 11.1% of all household income (Chao & Utgoff, 2006). As a teenager she decided to work after school to start saving money: she was selling ice cream in a cousin's dairy shop, and, later worked at the local grocery store. Even though her generation–the Baby Boom Generation– had a big impact on overall labor force participation of teenagers and young adults according to Hipple and Mosisa (2006), her personal agency and not parental urging contributed to these choices. None of her siblings worked until coming of age, even though according to Chris, "it was easy to get a job." At age of 18, her sister was offered Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Experience In My Life My life, or perhaps in the manner that I perceive it, has been overwhelmingly filled with enlightening and repressive circumstances that could have been averted, but all in all, makes up one's destiny. These events intricately tailored me into a young man that grew conscientious of the detrimental behavior of "acting before thinking" and into the realm of "thinking before acting". What I would soon come to understand was that through sheer patience, and trial–and–error it instilled within me new insights to learn from and that the most triumphant moments in my life began at the crossroads of unknowingness, a decision to stay in mediocrity, or the pursuit towards personal greatness– thus the decision had to be met. In the fall season of 2006, I was a student at Saint John Vianney, a relatively small parochial school. During that time period, I was an immensely nervous 6th grader that was forced to immerse himself into a Roman Catholic private school that had me sharply at odds with what I had experienced from schooling in the Folsom Cordova Unified public–school district (Kindergarten to 5th grade). It's important to know that I was sent here by my parents as a way of disciplining me due to, in their opinion, abhorrent behavior that medically could have stemmed from ADD, but perhaps I was just restless and explorative. The very first moment I shared with another soul was by the connective link of vision with a female student, by the name of Scarlett. This young girl (of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Reflection On My Life Experiences Woods. Session1. Journal Reflection Lesson HEART/HAND/HEAD Everything in life happens for a reason and nothing happens by happenstance, chance or luck. I believe our life experiences can bring us many different learning opportunities if taken. Which can bring about a great wisdom and knowledge to help oneself or others in life. The Heart, Hand, Head are all very vital parts of the body both Naturally & Spiritually and without these organs or parts we would not be able to survive. Starting with the "Heart" spiritually it brings about love, trust, forgiveness, honesty, and conviction (Example) John 3:16 "For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son, for whom so ever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". Naturally without a heart one cannot breathe or function at all and would be an empty shell for one cannot operate or function without it. My transformation began about 12 years ago. Now isn't that interesting a preacher's daughter who was born and raised into ministry wasn't truly transformed until my late twenties "Odd"? Maybe (or) maybe not! Because of my own stubbornness and pride I went through about 8–9 years of trials and tribulations brought upon myself. Now, don't get me wrong I was exceling in life at work, business ownership and socially. I thought I had it all and that I was responsible for it all as I soon realized "NOT SO". Once things became tough in life and the feeling of emptiness and the void became so intense too intense Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My Life My Journey Essay As a very small child I don't remember too much, but the things that I do remember were seen through a child's eyes that has made me the person that I am today and I will always have those memory's with me until my last breath on this earth. In this essay I intend to show how my childhood and adult life to this point has influenced my life, my journey. By utilizing the adult development theories from this class I also intend on showing how they relate to my Life experiences and where I am today as an Adult student. Its funny how as a child you look at things. As time passes, those same child memories become life experiences as an adult. It is stated that Environmental assessment is closely related to the impact environment makes on...show more content... I lost my little brother in 1982 at age 22 in an accident at my parent's home. Robbie was taking down a C.B. antenna and it struck a high power line that ran into the local General Motors plant. Robbie was killed instantly. As Erickson's stated in his psychosocial development theory, "which refers to the development within the social environment in which a person lives, primarily focusing on relationships with other people" (Simanowitz & Pearce. 2003). This had brought back memories of how my relationship was when we were little. I was always kind of upset with Robbie because he was one of those kids that had that natural athletic ability. Robbie could run faster and throw better, do everything better when it came to sports, but the real reason I was mad at Robbie most of my childhood life was because every time something went wrong, I always got the blame and in trouble. Mom would say "You're older you should have known better" Yes she was right most of the time I did know better. I was the middle child and I was always the one that got into trouble even though Robbie might have done it first. I had a good childhood for the most part, I can't remember not doing without the things that I really needed as a child. Things like clothes, food, shelter and love from a family. I recall having my favorite things Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Life Experience Analysis There is one thing that we could do good to learn in our own life. What I am talking about is the fact that life experiences change us and make us think, act, and feel differently than before. What you might be thinking is that there is no way we can be changed by a "life experience". Well I have two little examples from some good books of mine that will change your mind about that. First example, For those of you who have read it remember in The adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain when he was painting the fence? For those who are lost, there is a scene where Tom (the main character) is painting a fence on a Saturday we can all see that he hates it but the gears in his clever little mind start working and he soon figures out that by making...show more content... The book "Home" is our next example that we will be taking from. Okay now I am going to tell you about the book so we are starting on the same foot, if have already read the book I don't care just skip this part. So the father in the book has a little problem his son is smoking and he gets those cigars by stealing them from his father so when he calls his son in to have a talk with him about stealing and smoking his son will not listen to him and acts like it is no big deal. The father soon figures out that if he wants to get through to his son he needs to be simple and naive. He achieves this by telling his son a story about a kingdom that fell apart because one man smoked. He learned that children think simply and don't understand the disciplining that adults use. He now understands his son better and could teach him the right and wrongs of the world. Now some of may be saying " okay you convinced me but Tom's change seemed bad while the father in Homes change seemed good so do life experiences work both ways". Well whether the change is good or bad is a whole different dog collar that can be talked about at a later time. But I can say that Tom's change was most defiantly bad because he can now talk people into doing his work or doing something dumb while on the other hand the fathers change was good, he could now understand his son and other Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay On My Life Experience Each day we all experience things that are extraordinary and sometimes unforgettable. Yet it's how we let those experiences impact us individually that makes us each unique. An experience in my life that changed how I acted, thought, and felt was the first time I volunteered at my church during their summer "scamp" sessions. The "scamp" sessions aimed to make the lessons correlate to things the kids would do during summer camps. Serving at one of these session allowed the year round volunteers to continue serving if they wanted, but also have the ability to take a vacation and enjoy the church's service. Although life offers a multitude of life changing experiences, serving at Mecklenburg Community Church for the first time was greatest experience because I gained connections in my community, learned strong leadership skills and gained a desire to serve others first. It all began when I attended my first "scamp" session and I had several opportunities for jobs outside of the church over the summer and translating into the school year. The first time I served at Meck I was able to meet and be introduced to three families at the church who later reached out to me for weekly opportunities to work with their kids. In seeing the kids both in and outside of church over the summer "scamps" I gained more insight of their lives and personalities. One specific family that I met the first time I volunteered was the Harris family. I made a close bond with their youngest daughter Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Memorable Experience Essay Throughout life I have had many memorable events. The memorable times in my life vary from being the worst times in my life and some being the best, either way they have become milestones that will be remembered forever. The best day of my life was definitely the day that I received my drivers' license. This day is one of the most memorable because of the feelings I had when I received it, the opportunities that were opened up for me and the long lasting benefits that I received from it that still exist today. Getting my drivers' license was an intense feeling that I will never forget. Just knowing that I had a drivers' license made me feel so free, as free as a bird flying in the open sky with no real place to go, just a desire to be...show more content... Driving fast in a car may be unsafe but the thrill and excitement of high rates of speed gave me a rush I had never felt before. Seeing, feeling and hearing everything go by faster made the whole driving experience so much better. My mouth watered with envy as I approached the drivers' seat every time I went out for a drive. The automobile, as a whole, became a high interest of mine; the styling, the sound and the speed of it. I loved driving and I loved cars and all of this new found love was from the birth of my drivers' license. Such a simple piece of paper opened up such a broad area of learning for me; it was of much amazement to me. Receiving my drivers' license was the best day of my life. It will be remembered forever because of the feelings, experience and new beginnings that it gave me. Today, I still hold my interest in the automobile but the thrill of driving has dulled significantly since I receive many traffic tickets and went through a period of license suspension. But, still, that day remains the best day of my life. The day I received my drivers' license will never be forgotten for as long as I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Personal Experience with Crisis We have all experience some form of crisis in our life. Whether it is minor or more severe, it is something that many of us can not control. A crisis can involve a series of stressful events or one difficult point in life that effects a person's overall well–being. I had a hard time coming up with what to write as my crisis for this assignment because when I hear the word crisis, the first thing that comes to mind is that crisis is a very severe event such as a war or natural disaster. As I read more in depth about the concept of crisis, I found that it does not have to be something as serious as a war. It can simply be a point in life where you face a difficult situation that makes you feel under...show more content... Although some may not consider this a crisis, it was for me. This was a crisis for me because I moved from Ghana where the culture, language, people and overall atmosphere was different. The transition to move to a different country and learn a new culture and language was a stressful and difficult time in my life. I felt alone and out of place because I did not have friends and when I did, I could not understand or make a conversation with them for a long time. The phase in the crisis cycle most relatable to my experience is phase 2 – The intensification stage. In this phase, individuals feel a loss of internal control causing frustration, fear and anger. This stage is most relevant to my experience because I felt frustrated and a loss of internal control. What caused this crisis was me moving to Canada and not knowing the culture or English. I would not have experienced the crisis if I knew English and Canadian culture. Due to my circumstances, there was nothing I could have done to stop the crisis from happening. The behaviour of my peers and people around me during the crisis was both positive and negative, I was bullied and felt that my class mates were judging me for my accent Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My College Experience Essay examples My College Experience Throughout my lifetime I have listened to people reflect back on their college experiences and explain how college is supposed to be "the best experience of your life." The summer after my senior year I use to try and imagine what my first semester was going to be like based on what I had heard people talk about in the past. After my first semester at NC State I realized that I couldn't fully understand what college was like until I experienced it for myself. My first couple of weeks at Ohio State was rough and really tested my strength (mental and physical). I faced challenges and obstacles that I had never heard about in those past college experience conversations. All of a sudden there was no one to get me out of...show more content... I can remember missing 8:05 classes because I stayed out too late the night before. In high school the teacher would constantly remind the students when certain assignments were due, but this was not the case in college. I learned that the hard way my first semester. Sometimes I forgot to turn in an assignment because I didn't properly read my syllabus and my professor never mentioned it. These were all new problems that could have easily let escalate without taking the proper actions. For the most part I was doing fairly well but a few of my grades began to plummet. I was losing the confidence in myself and started to wonder if going to college had been the best decision. The time had come for me to grow up and become an adult even I didn't feel the time was right. I immediately began attending tutoring sessions, working with peers and also keeping a daily to–do list. These factors were the eventually led to drastic improvement and success. After my first semester I learned how better manage my time, take advantage of campus resources and also how to organize myself better. These struggles also taught me that sometimes I try and rush through things instead of taking my time. I realized that one of my strong points is being able to really do well when my back is against the wall. Although I was unhappy while facing obstacles I am happy I experienced them. • 12. Reflection Of My Life Essay One's dream and aspirations to supersede in life must be stronger and greater than limitations set forth by others. The experience that were bestowed to me during my short life has elevated me to the woman I am today. Please walk with me as I give you the opportunity to see the world from my eyes: To be the person that I am now, I had to reflect and accept accountability of my past actions. My past is one that many would love to erase from their memory, a past, which remained dormant, until I found myself. The steps involved in regaining myself encompassed letting go of my anger and self pity. I had to look within myself and see my self's worth, which lead to my belief that I ran away to college to forget my past. During the years...show more content... My last year in college, changed the whole course of my life. Near the end of my junior year, I befriended a guy, who never would become my boyfriend. I knew he was infatuated with me, so I lead him on. He ended up stalking me and making several death threats. I never understood the phrase "in fear of your life", until then. Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) got involved but there wasn't much they could do except file a police report and wait. This was a very frightening time in my life and consequently I became very disconnected with life. I never provided TPD with my stalker's name, in fear that he would kill me if I did. I moved to a different apartment complex across town, thinking that it would make all my problems go away. He ended up finding me and making more serious death threats against me and my family if I didn't leave Tallahassee. I had a mental breakdown after the last death threat and I left Florida State University my senior year, I went back home to deal with my traumatic ordeal. I quickly transferred to Florida International University and graduated the following year with my graduating class at Florida State. The three things that have made the biggest impact on and have influenced my life that shaped me into the person I am today are family background, experiences from my school year, and religious beliefs. Our culture provides a lens through which we view the world and interpret our everyday experiences. In order to know who I am today, I must look at who you've been. Many educators around the country are interested in developing a multicultural approach in their teaching. They find themselves in classrooms with 25 children of varying racial and cultural backgrounds, and are looking for ways to connect what they do in the classroom to the cultures represented by their students. Before we can begin to understand others, however, we need to understand ourselves and what we bring to our interactions with others. Every time we engage with our surroundings we create an experience both consciously and unconsciously. Our live experiences whether traumatic or joyful shape who we are over time. An experience that has defined the person I am today is my journey I went through as a child traveling back and forth from the United States to Mexico as an undocumented. If a child has an impact when moving into a new house and neighborhood imagine countries. I was brought to the United States when I was two years old. When you are a baby I guess is not that great of a deal you don 't remember much. However, when you start going to school and you are already half way through first grade, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Life Experience Essay Life is full of exciting experiences for us to enjoy. However, these experiences are meant to teach life lessons that should remain with us. In my 17 years of living, I have had many lessons to be learned from events I have gone through. One of those lessons sticks out above the rest and it has a humorous story to go along with it. The story starts out with the group planning a get together while eating breakfast at Mcdonald's. Ideas were flowing out of our heads like a river. We could not agree on a plan of action for the longest time. Finally, it was decided that we should go to Kenzie's house after she said her dad would cook for us. I was immediately down for that idea because I knew her dad makes the best chicken wings ever. The rest of the day for me was spent thinking about what to wear that night. Eventually, the time came for heading over to Kenzie's house. Bailey, another girl in the group, asked me to give her a ride since she did not have her driver's license. Because of this, we were one of the last ones to make it to Kenzie's. In the time that we missed the group decided that they wanted to go and toilet paper some of our friend's houses that lived close to Kenzie. I had never done something like this before. However, the excitement of doing this and avoid being caught appealed to me. We all piled into the cars and headed to Wal–Mart to buy the toilet paper. We had an interesting event that happened to us while we were in Wal–Mart. The event was when Get more content on HelpWriting.net

As we grow and go through life experiences, both good and bad, we as humans always seem to take some form of realization or some truth from each experience. The difference amongst all of us is whether or not we take these truths and make something of them. Becoming a nurse isn't a career choice I was pushed into making. I have desired to be a nurse for as long as I could remember. My perception of nursing and my desire to become a nurse directly comes from my passion to help people. I want to become a nurse because I enjoy being around people in their times of need and I get internal satisfaction by serving...show more content... She was an older lady who had just under gone major brain surgery months prior and had loss her speech. The very first day I began to care for Mrs. Smith she moaned and cried about everything because she couldn't physically tell me what she wanted for breakfast or when or if she had passed a stool. So my job for the rest of my time caring for her was to figure out with out her telling me what was more comfortable for her and what she would prefer if she could tell me. By the end of my 6 days caring for Mrs. Smith there was not a moan or cry to be heard from her room. Not only did I find the best way to care for her and to provide the utmost amount of comfort for her during this difficult time; I made her smile. I not only physically cared for her; I showed Mrs. Smith that even though she was unable to express her thoughts and feelings, that they were still present and that they mattered. But through my experience caring for Mrs. Smith I wasn't the only one teaching, Mrs. Smith taught me that it takes a certain type of person to be a nurse, and without patience and determination there is no progression. There is no doubt in my mind that I will not only be an asset to your nursing program itself, but to the nursing field in general. Becoming a nurse would not only be a professional success, but a personal success as well. Nursing is not a conscious choice that was cultivated by my pushy parents or a college advisor; it is who I am– it is my past, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. An Experience That Changed My Life Essay Introduction: In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that change a person's perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned from. In my case it wasn't necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because of a dog that entered my life. People say a man's...show more content... The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to the left in a quick fashion. Seeing this made my so happy. I would find myself looking forward to it when I was parking the car in the driveway. Tacha was one greedy dog too, she knew that she was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn't looking she would run in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out on the counter. One time I remember ordering Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another piece he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this funny, but there were plenty of nights when we couldn't get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog, she was also aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn't stop her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the house, and within 1 second we would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping off the bed. Times were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her to the chain and going back in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, "Come get your dog, come get your dog, she's chasing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Life Experience Essay My life has been a crazy roller coaster with many events that have affected my life all in different ways. There have been times where my life has been at its highest peak in the world then it falls down, right into a deep valley. From the time my lovable younger sister came into my life to when my grandpa had a near death experience, I have learned many valuable lessons through the rough times as well as the more happy times. When I was a young girl, my mom had always told me the same thing over and over again. I never really thought about how a few words would have a deep effect on me in a short amount of time. I was around 8 or 9 when my mom first told me "Don't take anyone for granted." I sat in my bedroom and looked at my mom extensively asking her "What do you mean?." Sitting in the beige colored room with the glowing light pointing towards her, I questioned her for a good couple minutes. Being the little girl I was, I didn't know what the immense word "granted" meant. After the short and quick conversation with my mom, the words she said had been stuck in the back of mind for a long time. The saying popped up in my mind here and there, but it has not effected me at least not yet. Over the summer my grandpa decided to go to Vietnam to visit some family he hadn't seen in a long time. Prior to going, he knew his health wasn't in the best condition but he still vowed to go. Once there, he began to feel very sick. Days went by since my family has heard from him until Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Reflective Essay On Life Experience Session 1 Reflection: Life Experience Opening my eyes slowly I could see millions of cracks shattered across my windshield. Trying to move as the pain began jolting through my body. A surprised voice grabbed my attention as I became conscious, he was telling me to stay still as the sound of the saw ate away at my door. I realized then that I was in a terrible car accident, somehow, I survived. This was the moment that changed my life, the moment that Jesus took the wheel. Hours prior to that I sat alone; sad, angry and dumbfounded. How could a man I've loved for 17 years love someone else? Thoughts flooded my mind as I tried drowning my pain with every bottle that hit my lips. Tears flowing down my face as I slowly began to slip away, wanting to forget every lie and hoping to erase all the years I sat blinded. The feeling of every breath escaping me as the couch felt like the only comfort I had. Then the day came that I stood before the judge as he sentenced me in 60–days in the county jail. I had just kissed my kid's goodbye outside, I didn't want them to see me handcuffed and taken away. Watching their eyes fill up with confusion and sadness broke every part of my heart that remained. Explaining to them that I did something bad and needed to be punished was something I felt ashamed of, especially that I would be absent from their lives was by far my greatest struggle. I just knew that I had to rise from this and come back stronger than the person I was before, to be a better mother, daughter and someone I could be proud of. My sister asked me if I was afraid to go to jail, if I was going to cry. I told her that I would only cry because I was sad to leave my kids and could only imagine how they felt, but afraid was something I wasn't. She looked at me baffled, I told her, "God has a plan for me, I could feel it and I don't know what it is all I know is that its inside those walls, He will protect me". To avoid a year's sentence, I was placed in the R.I.S.E unit (Recovery in secure environment), a program designed for women who are suffering from addiction. Every day we would sit in groups, mostly taught by us inmates and every other day we would have a trauma therapist come visit. It was an intense program Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Personal Narrative My Life Essay Personal Narrative My Life I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me. We were actively involved in community service activities, for which I received the Silver Award. ( The second highest award in the organization.) I learned about the value of friendship and patients with others. This organization first introduced me to my future career. I was also involved for three and a half years in a student government club on campus. In this club I learned many life lessons. One of which was the value of hard work. I was one of the few people that organized the Junior/Senior Prom of 2000. My responsibilities included planning corranation, buying and organizing decorations, planning the busing schedule, booking the photographers, fundraising, ect. This taught me about hard work. But the best part of it was going to Prom knowing I was one of the only reasons that it happened. As far as school goes, my schedule is very diverse. I am taking child development lab, which is a class where students from my high school can go to the local elementary schools and work one on one with the students. I have work in the elementary school for two and a half years. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
