Use appropriate formatting to make presentation slides more accessible for the audience. Produce presentations which provide visual interest and interactivity. 4. Why provide presentations online? Flexible delivery (you do not need to be present). Flexible access 24/7. Audience able to watch the presentation again (revision aid). Available to a wider audience. Easily provide links to further information and resources. Audience expectations (common practice). 12 May 2011 4
5. What are the Challenges? Sectioning information into manageable chunks. Adding context that you would normally provide face-to-face. Making the presentation visually interesting and interactive so the audience don’t get bored! Accessibility. 12 May 2011 5
6. Why do we need to think about accessibility? What do you understand by the word ‘accessibility’? The Equality Act 2010. Service providers have an obligation to make reasonable adjustments to the way they provide a service to ensure all users have access to it. Adjustments can make our services more accessible to all users not just those with a disability. 12 May 2011 6
7. Formatting - Text Font – Sans Serif (Arial, Tahoma, Verdana). Size – 24 and larger for headings. Colour – contrast, avoid red and green, avoid meaning through colour. 12 May 2011 7
