Overall concept= technology integration can been seen as interlocking pieces that go together to make a whole. Each hand represents the learning goal, the piece that we will examine more closely in this presentation. The laptop is used as a way to build a mental model of this concept. I’m directing attention to the laptop screen, with graphics, color and real estate. I’ve used motion in the animations so that the laptop is introduced first, then the title spins in (in the upper left) followed by
This page is meant to further highlight the premise of my concept design. “Help teachers find some essential tools that support learning-- no matter the content area.” I’ve used text type styles to allow the key concepts to POP out at the reader. The alignment of the key concepts are also grouped to facilitate quick reading and memory load.

My Home page features a Gestalt graph = this allows the reader see the whole concept--the big picture; the puzzle pieces are individual features, each one is also visible on the left navigation bar. Solving Problems, Communicating, Using Technology, Working on Teams, and Making Connections are all integral in the IL State Standards for EVERY subject area.
The features of this page, and the following pages are: Simple layout, with good “white space” and space allotment--not too much on the memory load same graphic from the Home gestalt page is called out from the left navigation bar
Use of color on the individual puzzle piece, the same color is also used for the “discover more links” and the movie action button. Hierarchy plan, repetition of puzzles in navigation bar on left. If you go sequentially, the colored puzzles move in line
Another feature of this is the ability to be NON-linear. If at any time, the user can click on a learning goal to get to that page. The “Essential Tools” links are the featured, with a colored arrow to direct attention to them.
The “Learning Standards” notebook is used to remind teachers of the goals for each area. This is a reminder that ALL content areas can find correlation to these goals. Bold styles are used for key words within the standard description. The media link takes the user to a tutorial or a video overview of one of the tools.
Repetition is used throughout this site: Puzzles Navigation bar on left Color of highlighted tools Page features (graphic balloon, Essential tools, learning standards, links and media element)
