a short description of our school

1. “Dimitrie Leonida” Technical
College

2. Our school is situated in the city of Petroșani, Romania.
The town lies in a tourist area, the Jiu Valley, which
possesses incredible sceneries due to the relief of the
Transylvanian Carpathians.

3. It is the ideal place for winter sports,
hiking, paragliding and climbing.

4. The school includes almost 80 teachers and 1,300
students aged 3 – 99. The profiles range from computer
science and mechanics to aesthetics and constructions.

5. • The classrooms are large and
clean, the laboratories are
well-equipped with video-
projectors, LCD-s, laptops,
interactive boards etc.
• There are three computer labs,
a gymnasium and a tennis
court. Students have their own
classroom, “The Club”, where
they can meet, discuss and
unfold various activities.

6. Our institution has always been involved in national and
international programs and exchanges which represent an
opportunity for both teachers and students to get
acquainted with cultural similarities and differences,
practise the use of foreign languages and develop social
relationships.

7. Extracurricular activities
represent a key-feature of
our school. Let us
enumerate some of our

Freshmen’s Ball,
Halloween, Thanksgiving
Day, Valentine’s Day,
Mother’s Day, Education
for Healthy Nutrition,
Celebrating the Universe,
The Internet Addiction,
Human Traffic Prevention,
Martin Luther King Day…

8. We also enjoy going on trips
and participating in various
sports competitions.

9. Students participate in regular environmental activities
including recycling, planting trees and collecting litter and waste.

10. Communication
