vegetables;
*traditional:
cucumbers,
carrots, dill,
radishes,
tomatoes,
cabbages, red
beets, onions,
garlics.

Lithuanians are
consuming more non-
traditional vegetables:

4. Mushrooms
There are a lot of
mushrooms in
Lithuania, but the
most popular is
„the king“ of all
mushrooms –
baravykas
(bara’vi:kas) –
used dried in
soups and sauces,
marinated or just
simply fried.

climate conditions.
Historically, it formed the habit
of eating not enough of
vegetables and fruit.
Even today, some dishes do not
consist of green produce, but
the traditions are changing with
influence of other national
cuisines and modern diet
philosophy.
