GENERAL INFORMATION
Affiliation and Recognition
1.
Army College of Nursing (ACN) is established for female dependants of Army
personnel/Ex-servicemen with effect from Aug 2005. ACN is functioning under the aegis of
Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) which is managing 131 Army Public Schools, 239
Army Pre Primary Schools and 12 professional colleges throughout the country including an
Engineering College, a Dental College, a Medical College, a Management Institute, an
Institute of Law, an Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Institute of
Education. ACN Jalandhar Cantt has obtained permission from the Department of Research
and Medical Education, Government of Punjab. ACN is recognised by Indian Nursing
Council (INC), New Delhi and is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences,
Faridkot.
Philosophy

Nursing is a direct service, goal oriented and adaptable to the needs of the individual,
family and community during health & illness. Nursing is a profession, which is influenced
by advances in science and technology and must advance with other professions to create a
balance in health care. The college will be preparing students to develop ability in critical
thinking, problem solving and take up responsibility in continuing education for professional
effectiveness. The college will emphasize in spirit to serve the humanity with compassion.
The profession involves selfless devotion and high degree of professional competence in
keeping with latest technological advances in the field of Nursing.
Objectives

The objectives of ACN Jalandhar Cantt are: (a)
To provide a comprehensive system of education and prepare students to
impart highly competent nursing services
(b)
To maintain high standards of nursing education through innovative
approaches to problem solving.
(c)
To develop teaching and supervisory skills in nursing health care.
(d)
To prepare nurses for administration of nursing services and education.
Location of the College

The College is presently located in the Military Hospital, Jalandhar Cantt. It is well
connected by city bus service and auto rickshaws with Jalandhar Cantt & City Railway
Station and Bus stand. (Route map attached).

The future campus of Army College of Nursing will be situated in a serene and
beautiful environment, conducive to learning. The campus will be self-contained with hostel
facilities, sports fields and other amenities. The location is well connected to the bus stand
and railway stations.

Hostel
6.
The hostel facility is available with the college. Hostel is compulsory for all
students and students are not permitted to stay outside under own arrangements. Lodging
and Messing expenses will be borne by students.
Course of Study and Seats

ACN, Jalandhar Cantt offers four years degree course leading to award of degree of
Bachelor of Nursing by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The intake is 50 students
per year. Military Hospital Jalandhar Cantt is the parent hospital for practical training of the
students. The details of the course are as under: (a)
Mode of Selection. The candidates will be selected based on Combined
Written Admission Test (CWAT) conducted at selected centers throughout the
country.
(b)
Course Syllabus. As laid down by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences,
Faridkot.
(c)
Medium. Medium of instruction will be English. Students will write the
CWAT in English.
(d)
Examination. Examination will be held annually during the month of
May/June. Candidates who fail in any subject are allowed to reappear during
November/December.
(e)
Award of Degree. Degree will be awarded by Baba Farid University of
Health Sciences, Faridkot based on the norms of the university.

The above fee structure is strictly for the academic session 2013-14 and is subject to
revision for the following sessions. The fee for the first year will be paid in one installment
by bank drafts for college and hostel separately. For subsequent years it can be paid in two
installments by bank draft separately ie Rs 33,650/- for college and Rs 6,500/- for Hostel.

Monthly mess charges will be approximately Rs. 1500/- or actual as quoted by the
contractor. Payment for first three months is to be made at the time of admission.

All fees will be paid in the form of bank draft or local cheque in favour of ARMY
COLLEGE OF NURSING JALANDHAR CANTT, payable at Jalandhar Cantt.
Refund of Security Deposit

The security deposit will be refunded to the students after deducting arrears, if any, on
completion of the course.
Bond
14.
There is no liability/bond to join the Military Nursing Services/Armed Forces after
completion of the course.
Insurance
15.
All the students will be covered under Group Insurance Scheme centrally by AWES
HQ. Students will have to pay annual premium of Rs 120/- (premium amount may vary as
per directions of AWES HQ).

Internal Examination
23.
Tests are held from time to time to evaluate the progress of students. The internal
assessment of the student is based on these examinations. Students must pass both internal
and external examinations.
Registration
24.
The students who are declared successful in all four-year degree examination are
eligible for registration with Punjab Nurses Registration Council as Registered Nurse and
Midwife. The students have to pay their own registration fee to the Punjab Nurses
Registration Council through the institution.
Life Membership of Trained Nurses Association of India (T.N.A.I.)
25.
The students who are declared successful in final year examination are eligible to
become Life Member of Trained Nurses Association, New Delhi. The students have to pay
their membership fee to T.N.A.I. through the institution.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO THE B. SC NURSING COURSE
General
26.
The admission to the B. Sc. (Nursing) course at ACN Jalandhar Cantt is exclusively for
the female dependant wards of serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and war
widows of the Army. The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and
they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to
them as proof of their eligibility for admission to ACN Jalandhar Cantt along with the
Application Form :(a)
The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:(i)
Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years
continuous service in the Army (Submit Certificate No 1).

(ii)
Children of ex Army personnel
granted/ awarded
regular
pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the
time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/
invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded
out and granted disability pension (Submit Certificate No 1).
(iii)
Children of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge or released
after ten years of service (Submit Certificate No 1).
(b)
Adopted /Step children and children of Remarried Widows .
(i)
Adopted Child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to
seeking admission (Submit Certificate No 2).
(ii)
Step Children are eligible provided they are born from a wedlock
where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible
(Submit Certificate No 2).
(c)
Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases
(i)
Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps
Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Indian Navy
or Indian Air Force(IN/IAF). Wards of only those ex Army medical
officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or
Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for atleast 10 years (Submit
Certificate No 3).
(ii)
Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS/MNS/TA Personnel
(Submit Certificate No 3).
(aa) Children of APS personnel classified as ex- servicemen as per
Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated
19 Jul 89.
(ab) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and
who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
(ac) Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS
who have completed 10 years of service and of those who as per their
terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to
P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service
of which 10 years was in the Army.
(ad) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years
service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from
the Army.
(ae) Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10
years of embodied service.

Educational Qualification.
27.
The details are as under : (a)
The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate
Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a
period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a
level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council
for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of 10+2+3 years
educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education;
Or
(b)
The Intermediate examination in science of an Indian University/Board or
other recognized body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a
practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
Or
(c)
The pre-professional/pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and
Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination, or the pre
university or an equivalent examination. The pre-professional/premedical
examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also
English as a compulsory subject.
Or
(d)
The first year of the three years degree course of a recognized university with
Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in three subjects provided
the examination is a “university examination” and candidate has passed 10+2 with
English at a level not less than a core course.
Or
(e)
B.Sc examination of an Indian University, provided that she has passed the
B.Sc Examination with not less than two of the following subjects Physics,
Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that she has passed the earlier
qualifying examination with the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and
English.
Or
(f)
Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent
to the Intermediate science examination of an Indian University/Board, taking
Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and
English.
28.
Minimum Aggregate. She must have cleared 12 th Class examination in one sitting as
a regular candidate from a recognized institution. Candidate must have passed in the subjects
of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum
of 45% aggregate marks (PCBE) from a recognized Board / University. Candidates who
have appeared in the 12th Class or equivalent examination are also provisionally eligible to
apply and appear in the Entrance Examination. However, their candidature will be considered
only if they provide documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying examination with
the required subjects and percentage of marks at the time of counselling of admission.

29.
Age. Age should not be less than 17 years and not more than 25 years on 31 Dec
2013. The date of birth recorded in the Secondary Education Board only will be taken as
authentic.
30.
Physical Fitness Besides fulfilling the eligibility conditions as per Para 27 to 29, the
candidate should be certified by MH/RMO/Registered Medical Practitioner as physically and
mentally fit to pursue the course. A certificate to this effect in the enclosed form 4(Certificate
No 4) is required to be submitted by the candidate along with her application form.
31.
Certificate Nos 1 to 6 are enclosed.
Note : A candidate who has passed any examination of a Statutory University recognized as
equivalent to the course shall not be permitted to appear for the examination for the same
course.

Note: (i)
The above-mentioned weightage will be added to actual CWAT score before
drawing the overall merit list.
(ii)
A certified copy of the part II Order / Gazette notification conferring the
award / copy of the award certificate should be attached with the application form for
claiming the weightage. For Sena Medal (Gallantry) a certificate has to be obtained
from MS – X that the Sena Medal awarded to the Officer is for acts of courage /
bravery.
33.
Ensuring Eligibility is the Candidate’s Responsibility. It is the responsibility of the
candidate to ensure that she possesses the requisite academic qualifications for the course and

is eligible in all other respects as per the eligibility conditions given in this prospectus. The
fact that a candidate has been permitted to appear in CWAT or counselling does not imply
that her eligibility has been verified and accepted. The final eligibility of the candidates will
be verified by ACN at the time of admission to the course as also later during the scrutiny of
papers by the university. In case of any change in the eligibility conditions made by the
university for the session 2013-14 at a later stage the eligibility will be verified with
reference to the university’s eligibility conditions prescribed at the time of candidate’s
admission to the B Sc Nursing course. If a candidate is found to be ineligible at any stage
during the entire process, the college reserves the right to cancel her candidature/admission to
the course without any refund of the fees/charges paid.
34.
All admissions made by ACN, Jalandhar Cantt are provisional. An admission will be
considered final only when the eligibility criteria are met and the admission of the candidate
to the course gets the final confirmation of the university.
LEGAL JURISDICTION
35.
All disputes regarding sale of prospectus, conduct of examination, admission to ACN
or any other matter pertaining to Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt shall fall within
the jurisdiction of the courts in Jalandhar.
ARBITRATION
36.
Any dispute concerning the interpretation of any of the terms and conditions of
admission and any of the paragraphs of this prospectus or any dispute concerning the sale of
prospectus, conduct of admission, course, fees, examination, promotion, attendance, pass
marks, valuation of papers etc, shall be resolved amicably. If the student or any parent
representing any minor student and the college fails to resolve the dispute amicably, the
matter should be referred to the sole Arbitration of the Chairman or any other person(s)
nominated by the Chairman.
37.
The award passed by the sole Arbitrator shall be binding on both the parties. The
place of arbitration shall be Jalandhar Cantt or the college premises only and the provisions
of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 shall apply to the arbitration proceedings. The
courts situated at Jalandhar alone shall have the jurisdiction to entertain any application or
litigation concerning the arbitration.
JOINING INSTRUCTIONS
General
38.
The result of the CWAT published on 01 Jun 2013 will be put up on the
ACDS Website, AWES website, sent to all Command HQs and HQ 11 Corps. The result will
also be displayed by Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt on their notice board/website.
Candidates declared to have qualified CWAT and recommended for admission to ACN
Jalandhar Cantt will also be individually informed by ACN Jalandhar Cantt to that effect.
The candidates recommended for admission to the B Sc Nursing course at ACN Jalandhar
Cantt are required to pay Rs 10,000/- as registration fee alongwith willingness certificate
regarding joining through a Crossed Demand Draft in favour of Army College of Nursing,
Jalandhar Cantt at the time of counselling and get admitted to the course by the due date and
formally join ACN Jalandhar Cantt for the course at least two days prior to the

commencement of the course. This amount will be adjusted against the first installment of the
fee for the course to be paid by the candidate at the time of admission. If the registration /
confirmation fee is not paid by the candidate during the counselling, it will be assumed that
the candidate is not willing to join the course and the offer made to the candidate will be
treated as cancelled. The seat in such a situation will be offered to the candidate next on the
waiting list. The candidate will be permitted to join the course only after she pays her dues by
the due date. If a candidate fails to pay the requisite fee, as declared in the prospectus and /
or fails to join the course by the due date, her candidature will be treated as cancelled and the
seat will be offered to the candidate next on the waiting list. Request for seeking extension in
time for joining the course will not be entertained.
Documents to be Submitted on Admission
39.
The following certificates will be submitted by the candidate at the time of
admission:(a)
Original / provisional degree and statement of marks of qualifying
examination and other higher examination passed by the candidates.
(b)
Character / Conduct Certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer / Head of the
Institution last attended.
(c)
Migration Certificate from the university from which the candidate has passed
her last examination.
Custody of Original Certificates
40.
All original certificates, as mentioned at Para 39 above, will have to be produced by
the candidate for verification of her eligibility for admission to the B Sc Nursing Course.
These will be produced on the day of admission and will thereafter be retained by ACN
Jalandhar Cantt. All original documents will be returned to the candidates on the completion
of the course. Candidates are advised to apply / approach the university where they appeared
for the last examination and obtain their migration certificate well in time. Admission may be
denied if the migration certificate is not produced at the time of joining the college.
Inability to Produce Original Documents at the Time of Admission
41.
In case a candidate is already pursuing a course of study in some other institute and
the original certificates are held elsewhere, she will be provisionally admitted on the basis of
the attested copies of her certificates. In such cases, the candidate must produce a letter from
the Head of the college / institution concerned stating the fact. Once the admission has been
granted, the candidate must deposit the original certificates within 15 days of her admission
to ACN Jalandhar Cantt, failing which the admission of the candidate will be cancelled and
the seat allotted to the candidate next on the waiting list.
Withdrawal of Original Certificates
42.
In case a candidate admitted to ACN Jalandhar Cantt desires to withdraw her original
certificates in order to facilitate her admission to some other college / institute, she will be
permitted to do so for the period to be decided by ACN Jalandhar Cantt. In case the

candidate does not deposit the withdrawn original certificates back with ACN by the
specified date for the purpose, her admission will be cancelled and the seat allotted to the
next candidate in merit.
Refund
43.
The following rules will be applicable for refund of fee : (a)
Refund of Registration Fees Before Commencement of the Course/ Cut
Off Date. In case of withdrawal before commencement of the course/ cut off date,
full Registration fees less Rs 1000/- processing charges will be refunded.
(b)
Refund of Fees after Commencement of the Course but Before Last Date
of Admission, if seat is filled by Another Candidate. Refund of fees after
commencement of the course but before last date of admission, if seat is filled by
another candidate will be as under: (i)
Initial Registration Fee-
Full Registration fees less Rs 1000/processing charges.

Type and Conduct of Exam Paper,
(a)
The test paper will consist of 110 objective type (multiple choice) questions in
the following format : (i)
Part I. Physics & Chemistry (73 questions).
(ii)
Part II. Biology (Zoology & Botany) (37 questions).
(b)
All answers shall be indicated on a single Optical Marks Reader (OMR) sheet
using HB pencil to darken the circle pertaining to the most appropriate answer. The
questions shall be generally based on the CBSE syllabus for class 10+2. Any over
writing, excess marking and filling of roll numbers in wrong slots is liable to be
rejected by computers and names of such candidates will not appear in merit list.
OMR sheets without proper roll numbers, with over writing, cuttings and poorly
erased pencil marks are rejected by the computer system.
(c)
Syllabus for the Examination. The general standard of the entrance
examination will be that of 11th and 12th class under the 10+2 scheme/premedical/intermediate science or an equivalent examination of the State Education
Board/Indian University.
(d)
Evaluation System. The evaluation of the OMR answer sheets will be done
through optical scanners and computers. Each correct answer will fetch one mark
whereas incorrect answers, multiple answers or doubtful answers will lead to a
deduction of 0.25 marks. Since the entire process is computerized, candidates are
advised to be very careful in making their answers on the OMR sheet.

Mode of Selection for Admission.
(a)
The admission will be strictly on merit ranking, based on marks obtained in
CWAT.

The merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by the
candidates in the entrance test. The decision of management regarding the preparation
of merit list will be final and no arbitration in this matter will be accepted.
(c)
In case of vacant seats due to certain candidates declining to join/not joining
on due date, the vacancy so created will be offered to the candidate next in merit and
so on.
Merit list
50.
Merit list for ACN Jalandhar Cantt will be prepared on the basis of the candidates’
performance in the CWAT as per para 48 above.
51.
Relative Merit in Case of Equal Marks. In the case of candidates securing equal
number of marks, their relative merit will be reassessed, inter-se on the basis of the following
order of preference: (a)
A candidate securing more aggregate marks (PCBE Subjects) in the qualifying
examination i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent.
(b)
A candidate securing more marks in Biology in CWAT.
(c)
Seniority in date of birth.
Use of Unfair Means in CWAT
52.
Use of unfair means in CWAT will render the candidate disqualified for admission to
the course. Officer In charge Examination Center is empowered to disqualify the candidates
found using unfair means. Canvassing in any form or approaching the organizers through
unfair means or influencing any of the authorities will also render the candidate disqualified
for admission to the B. Sc. Nursing course.
Notification of Results
53.
The result of the CWAT will be declared on 01 Jun 2013.
54.
The inter-se-merit of the candidate taking into consideration her performance in the
CWAT will be displayed in respect of all candidates on the notice board and website of ACN
Jalandhar Cantt. The list will also be put up on the AWES website and sent to all Commands
and Corps HQs and HQ 11 Corps.
Final Authority on CWAT
55.
The conduct of CWAT, the evaluation of CWAT answer sheets and the preparation of
merit list etc is the sole responsibility of ACDS, Secunderabad. In case of any ambiguity /
confusion, the decision of ACDS, Secunderabad will be final and binding.

No request for revaluation of CWAT Answer Sheet will be considered and no
correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
HOW TO APPLY
57.
There will be a Combined Written Admission Test (CWAT) for admission to the
B.Sc. Nursing Course 2013-14 of Army College of Nursing (ACN) Jalandhar Cantt.
58.
Candidates desirous of seeking admission to ACN Jalandhar Cantt can obtain the
prospectus from the Office of ACN Jalandhar Cantt, C/O Military Hospital, Jalandhar Cantt
on payment of Rs 450/- through demand draft in favour of Army College of Nursing payable
at Jalandhar Cantt. The prospectus can also be obtained through registered post by sending
the request along with a crossed demand draft for Rs 500/- in favour of ARMY COLLEGE
OF NURSING JALANDHAR CANTT payable at Jalandhar Cantt. Cash / Money Order /
Cheque / Postal Order will not be accepted. The prospectus may also be downloaded from
our website www.acn.co.in. Candidates are advised to check their eligibility before filling in
their application form. Application forms duly completed in all respects along with relevant
certificates and documents should reach the Principal, Army College of Dental Sciences,
Secunderabad (AP) latest by 15 March 2013 without late fee and by 25 Mar 2013 with a
late fee of Rs 100/-.

CWAT roll numbers will be issued to the candidates by ACDS Secunderabad.
60.
Candidates should ensure their eligibility for the B Sc Nursing course before filling in
their application forms.
Forms and Certificates

All particulars / details sought from the candidate in the form should be provided and
the columns completed and signed by the candidate herself. Incomplete application forms
will be rejected. There is no provision for condoning of the delay in the receipt of application
forms on account of postal strikes / delays / lapse by courier services.
Furnishing of Incorrect Information
62.
If in case at any stage, it is found that a candidate has furnished false information in
the application form or has produced false certificates, her admission, even if granted, will be
cancelled and fee paid by her forfeited. Criminal proceedings may also be initiated against
such candidates.

commencement of course.

Certificate No 3 - children of Army Medical Corps /AD Corps
Officers serving in Air Force /Navy Medical establishment/MNS/APS and TA
personnel.
(iv)
Certificate No 4 - Medical Fitness Certificate.

institution.

Admit Card
64.
The admit card for the CWAT will be sent to the candidates by ‘Registered Post’ on
the address indicated by them on the white envelope provided with the application form.
Candidates are requested to affix stamps of the requisite value for the purpose.
65.
The CWAT Admit Card will be issued to the candidate by ACDS Secunderabad.
66.
In case the admit card is not received by the candidate by 10 Apr 2013 she should
approach ACDS Secunderabad, stating her full name, address, place of examination as
mentioned in the application form and her application form number so as to facilitate the
dispatch of the duplicate admit card.
Appearing for CWAT in the Event of Non Receipt of Admit Card
67.
In case a candidate does not receive the admit card prior to the date of examination,
she must approach the Officer In charge of examination center (centre as indicated in the
application form as first choice) with passport size photograph similar to the photograph
forwarded with the application form. Officer In charge examination center may permit the
candidate to provisionally appear in the examination. However, evaluation of her answer
sheet and admission to the course would in such a situation be subject to the confirmation of
her eligibility for CWAT.

practices. Any body found indulging in forbidden practices will be liable to strict
disciplinary action.

Ragging of junior students in any form.
(v)
Smoking.
(vi)
Use of drugs or intoxicants.
(vii)
Any form of gambling.
(viii) Spitting in or near the College building except in any spittoon
provided by the College.

Bringing outsiders for interference in the college or to show ‘Dadagiri’
(x)
Casteism, communalism and practice of untouchability.
(xi)
Immoral acts.
Discipline
69.
Being governed by AWES and co-located within the vicinity of the Army Campus
the students of ACN, Jalandhar Cantt are expected to behave and conduct themselves in a
most disciplined manner. The discipline and behaviour of students will also be governed by
the relevant ordinance of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot which
empowers the college authorities to punish the students for misconduct to the extent of
‘Rustication’ from ACN, Jalandhar Cantt for two months or even outright expulsion. The
management reserves the right to expel any student from the hostel at short notice and
without assigning any reason for the same.
Ragging
70.
Ragging of juniors in any form is banned by the orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court as
well as Management. If any incidents of ragging comes to the notice of the management, the
concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if her explanation is not found
satisfactory, the management would expel her from the institution and necessary legal action
will be taken under relevant laws.
Accident
71.
The college authorities are taking all the precautions for proper care of the students.
However, the College will not be responsible for any unforeseen accident or death to the
students during the training and stay at the Institute.

Application number must be quoted in all future correspondence. The name on the
application form should be the same as mentioned in Matriculation or 10+2 certificates.

Candidates should fill in the application form very carefully. If the candidate
knowingly furnishes false information, admission will be cancelled at any stage and fees paid
will not be refunded.
76.
Late Receipt and Caution on Courier Service. ACDS will not accept application
forms received later than 15 Mar 2013 without late fee. Condonation of delay on account of
postal strikes/lapses by courier services will not be done. It has been experienced that courier
services are NOT always effective in ensuring timely deliveries at ACDS. These must
therefore be utilised only at the applicants’ own risk.
COMBINED ADMISSION TEST (C-WAT) SESSION 2013-14
COMMON INSTRUCTIONS
77.
There will be a Combined Written Admission Test (CWAT) for admission to session
2013-14 of Army College of Nursing Jalandhar Cantt and Army Institute of Nursing
Guwahati. The Prospectus / Application Forms for admission the two institutions, however,
are released separately. The two colleges i.e. Army College of Nursing and Army Institute of
Nursing bring out their separate prospectus, which can be obtained from the offices of the
two institution. Candidates desirous of applying to more than one institution will have to
procure the prospectus of the respective institutions, fill in the prescribed forms for
each of them and submit them directly to Army College of Dental Sciences
Secunderabad. No candidate will be considered for admission to an institution unless he/she
fills the prescribed application form of the corresponding institution(s).
78.
Candidates applying for more than one institution are advised to clearly mention their
priority of choice of the respective institutions in their application forms giving particulars of
the application forms of the institutions they have applied, as sought in relevant column of
the application form. Only those candidates, who wish to be considered for more than one
institution, are required to purchase the prospectus of all the institutions they want to be
considered for admission, fill in their prescribed application forms indicating their priority of
choice in all the forms in the respective columns and submit all the forms completed in all
respects to Army College of Dental Sciences Secunderabad. Note that the candidate’s
priority of choice reflected by her in all the application forms he / she submit should be the
same. In case of any discrepancy on the part of the candidate in this respect, the decision of
the Army College of Dental Sciences Secunderabad will be final and binding.

Based on the candidates’ performance in CWAT, separate merit lists will be drawn
for the two institutions. Candidates will be considered for admission only to the
institutions(s) for which they have filled the prescribed application. Candidates applying for
more than one institution will be considered for allotment to the respective institutions as per
the priority of choice indicated by them in their application and as per their position in the
merit list. For example, if as per her performance in CWAT, a common applicant gets the
institution of her first choice then she will not be considered for a seat in the institution of her
second choice. But a common candidate who gets her lower priority choice will be
considered for a place in the waiting list in the institution of her higher priority choice as per
her CWAT merit. Priority of choice for the two institutions should therefore be indicated
carefully in relevant column of the application form as the choice once indicated would
neither be revised not changed at a later stage.

Issue of Admit Card does not mean acceptance of eligibility. Admission to CWAT
