The Kentuckiana Digital Library was begun in 1997 and initially created finding aids for the University of Kentucky Libraries. It has since expanded to include books, images, maps, manuscripts, journals, newspapers, oral histories and more from digitization projects. The library has extensive experience digitizing materials from microfilm as well as newspapers through the National Digital Newspaper Program. It also digitizes oral histories from the Louie B Nunn Center for Oral History by synchronizing audio and transcripts. The library has become experts in various areas of digitization and aims to help others gain related skills through its work.
