US
One day, students from classes 4A and
4B Primary School Ripa Teatina meet a

2. "Why are you so important?",
asked the students

3. "I carry water
and nutrients to
areas all around
the earth...and I
play a very
important part
in the water
cycle!",
answerd the
river.

4. "so..." added the river: "I provide excellent habitat and food for many of the
earth's organisms."
Then the river splashed the waters a little and said again: "Look! Many
plants and trees grow all around me!"

5. Many animals
make their
homes on my
banks, Others
use the river
for food and
drink. Some
birds eat
small fish
from the river!

6. "but..."
sayed the
students...
"Rivers
teach!"

7. so...If you want to learn how aquatic ecosystems
work, spend a couple of hours on a riverbank
just like we did!

8. …We saw birds,
grasses and
flowers growing
along the bank to
provide food for
insects; fish
jumping at the
insects hovering
above the water;
and birds diving
to catch the fish!

9. We discovered that... water is life!
