popular are sport (18), fashion (9), music (13) and gaming (6), these results were expected as they are typical hobbies

Series 1
People were asked their favourite colours, a range of results were given however there was a clear
trend, blue (15), black (11) and white (8) were the most common choices whereas orange and yellow
were a lot less popular. The subjects were also asked whether they would prefer a bright or darker
colours scheme, 5 said bright whereas 14 said dark. This backs up the chart results as black and blue are
darker colours, therefore the magazine style will be darker, colder colours.

When asked how much they would be willing to pay for a college magazine, the majority of the students said no
more than a pound, this shows that the magazine cant be too expensive or there are going to be less people willing
to buy it.

Since all of the people asked were students they were all around the same age, however most of them were
sixteen (27) suggesting that the magazine needs to be targeted to younger students who are wanting to read the
college magazine.
7. Gender
Sales
male female
There is almost an even amount of male and female, which shows that the magazine doesn’t need to be targeted
to a specific audience, but to include content that both genders will enjoy reading.

never once per month once per week twice per week
The students were asked if they read magazines and if so how often, just as many people said they don’t read
magazines as those who read it monthly. This shows that the magazine needs to be published monthly, to keep
readers interested, but also to make the magazine very appealing by making sure all of the content is interesting but
more importantly that the cover is exciting and eye catching so that students are attracted to it and more will read it.
9. Freebies
Sales
yes no
There is a clear positive correlation to people wanting freebies, therefore to persuade readers to buy the magazine
freebies, competitions and offers should be included, all of these things will be important factors fro students, however
only a couple should be included in each issue so that people are also buying it for the content

Series 1
This shows that people are going to be more likely to buy the magazine if it is more simple and modern,
instead of lots of bright bold colours that look complicated and childish. There is a link between these
results and the favourite colours, since a lot of people there wanted classy and more formal colours rather
than bright and informal such as yellow or pink.
