sarafan. There are also two very
famous types of Russian shawls.
Russian men wear fine linen rubashka
or use a shirt. Traditional Russian
clothing is designed to highlight the
spirit of Russia.
Sports
The tree most popular sports in Russia
are ice hockey, figure skating, and chess

New Years is
the most
popular

holiday.
One tradition
they have is
from January 1st
to January 5th,
nobody has to
attend work.
Also after
Christmas they
leave their tree
up but give it a
new name. They
call it the New
Year tree but

allowed to watch. The men had
to be extremely fit and pretty
young. In the first Olympic
games men did not wear any
clothes when they competed.
