2. COVID -19 & ECONOMICS...
 COVID-19 is a highly transmittable and pathogenic viral
infection. Emerged in Wuhan, China and spread around the
World
 The intermediate source of origin and transfer to humans is
not known, however, the rapid human to human transfer
has been confirmed widely. There is no clinically approved
antiviral drug or vaccine available to be used against
COVID-19
 Coronamics is Short Run Economics. In Economics Time
is understood by Very Long Period, Long Period, Short
Period and Very Short Period or Market Period. The
problems of very short period must be dealt by only
Market Forces/Corporate. Today Market Forces failed to
deliver in the Economy. RBI Decisions will help the
economy in all periods except during very short period

 Restrictions have helped to avoid greater suffering and
death, but have also created socioeconomic hardship
 COVID-19 along two multidisciplinary cascades:
energy, emissions, climate and air quality; and poverty,
globalization, food and biodiversity
 Short-term impacts are dominated by direct effects
arising from reduced human activity
 Longer-lasting impacts are likely to result from
cascading effects of the economic recession on global
poverty, green investment and human behaviour
 Opportunity for novel insight, particularly with the
careful deployment of targeted data collection,
coordinated model experiments and solution-oriented
randomized controlled trials, during and after the
pandemic

 Beyond the human tragedy, there is a direct
economic impact from lives lost in an outbreak

provider for their families

 Contain the Pandemic:
 Containing the disease is the first step to mitigating not
only the health impacts but also the economic impacts
 Strengthen the Safety Net:
 Making sure there is an economic safety net—cash
transfers, sick leave, subsidized health coverage—in place
helps the most vulnerable survive and provides support to
enterprises that serve those populations
 Measure the Impact:
 Monitoring the Health situation across and within
Countries, monitoring the economic situation and
providing support to households in need can mitigate the
most urgent needs
