                       1.0 LANGUAGE FOR INTERPERSONAL USE

                       1.1b Take part in conversation and discussion
                          iii. responding appropriately to questions based the food diet.
                          vi. participating in teacher-guided class discussions by giving
                               one’s opinion which is healthy and which is unhealthy food.

                       2.2a Skimming and scanning for specific information and ideas
                       vi. identifying main ideas in simple text to be matched in the
                           exercise given
Learning objectives    : By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

                                1. interact and participate actively in class by answering
                                   random questions asked by teacher on food and their
                                   daily diet.
                                2. answer comprehension question based on an article
                                   about food and its recommendation.
                                3. plan and present on how to eat a healthy diet for their
                                   breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Healthy makan makan…
No matter what people say, we can make healthy eating choices.

HEALTHY Malaysian food ... is there such a thing? You may wonder sometimes
whether you can find any
healthy Malaysian food.
However, you can make
appropriate choices in
selecting well-balanced
meals.

Sensible tips for healthy
eating
Variety, moderation and
balance are key to healthy
meals. Remember, there is
no such thing as good or
bad foods but good or bad
eating habits. If you need to
change, then change your
negative eating habits.

Some healthier breakfast
choices include:

# Mee or meehoon soup with chicken and green vegetables
# Chapatti with dhal curry
#Sandwiches with tuna egg or chicken filling

For lunch and dinner, healthier choices include:

# A medium bowl of rice with stir fried green leafy vegetables, chicken curry and fruits
# A medium bowl of rice with a variety of ulam, assam pedas fish with fruits
# Two small chappatis with meat peas curry and vegetables with fruits

Some sensible beverages choices include:
·Barley water, plain water, black coffee or tea with low fat milk or Chinese tea
In summary, choose wisely when it comes to food choices. Be flexible and allow some
variations occasionally.

  • 6. APPENDIX 1 Healthy makan makan… No matter what people say, we can make healthy eating choices. HEALTHY Malaysian food ... is there such a thing? You may wonder sometimes whether you can find any healthy Malaysian food. However, you can make appropriate choices in selecting well-balanced meals. Sensible tips for healthy eating Variety, moderation and balance are key to healthy meals. Remember, there is no such thing as good or bad foods but good or bad eating habits. If you need to change, then change your negative eating habits.
