Mobile commerce (m-commerce) involves using mobile devices like phones and personal organizers to purchase goods and services. It began in 1997 with Coca-Cola vending machines in Finland accepting payments by SMS text messages. As smartphones emerged, m-commerce moved to applications. In India, m-commerce sales are projected to grow from $6.02 billion in 2015 to $37.96 billion in 2020 as cell phones become ubiquitous and more payment options emerge. M-commerce allows customers to access information, products, and services anywhere using their mobile devices and should offer appropriate payment methods.
