region at over 100 years. The group has operations in newspaper publishing, radio, TV, magazine
distribution, outdoor advertising and online.

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority
The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) is a fully autonomous body responsible for tax
administration in the Maldives. The main responsibilities of MIRA include execution of tax laws,
implementation of tax policies and providing technical advice to the Government in determining tax
policies.

Services tax types.
Universal Music Group
Universal Music Group (UMG) is the world's largest music entertainment content company and is owned
by the large French conglomerate - Vivendi. The company operates through a network of subsidiaries,
joint ventures and licensees in 77 countries, representing 98% of the music market. With the recent
acquisition of EMI, Universal Music has consolidated its dominant position in the music market.

 Invenio proposed using ‘HANA as a sidecar' engine along with SLT
(System Landscape Transformation) for real time updates and
Business Objects for effective reporting.
 Project has also given UMG an opportunity to redesign some of
the superfluous data models and business processes.
Benefits
Background
Physical and digital sales data is fed by various feeder
systems in this central finance instance consisting of
SAP ECC and BW. After further processing of this data,
royalty payments get calculated, provisions made and
financial statements generated. The numbers are
finally fed into a Hyperion system used by the parent
organisation Vivendi Group.
Challenges
 SAP FICO solution was implemented for financial
reporting and royalty payments.
 Entire process was time consuming which resulted in
making it a lengthy and resource intensive affair.
 Slow and basic reporting.
 Slack of the financial reporting.
Case Study
 FI posting to be available for HFM mapping view was brought
down to under 5 minutes from the current 5 hours.
 Complex reports which took more than an hour to run, can now
run in under 10 minutes, sometimes under 2 minutes.

The company operates through a network of subsidiaries, joint ventures and licensees in 77 countries, representing 98% of the music market. With the recent acquisition of EMI, Universal Music has consolidated its dominant position in the music market. 21 Solutions  Invenio proposed using ‘HANA as a sidecar' engine along with SLT (System Landscape Transformation) for real time updates and Business Objects for effective reporting.  Project has also given UMG an opportunity to redesign some of the superfluous data models and business processes. Benefits Background Physical and digital sales data is fed by various feeder systems in this central finance instance consisting of SAP ECC and BW. After further processing of this data, royalty payments get calculated, provisions made and financial statements generated. The numbers are finally fed into a Hyperion system used by the parent organisation Vivendi Group. Challenges  SAP FICO solution was implemented for financial reporting and royalty payments.  Entire process was time consuming which resulted in making it a lengthy and resource intensive affair.  Slow and basic reporting.  Slack of the financial reporting.
