The IEP team can also have: Other school personnel principal, assistant principal , other teachers etc. Specialist teacher Resource Teacher of Students with Hearing Impairment, Learning and  Behaviour (RTLB).  Specialist service provider  staff and other disability, rehabilitation and special needs specialists.  Therapist Includes speech-language therapist, occupational therapist, and  physiotherapist. 2- Transition To Tertiary Main Website :  http://www.transitions.org.nz The government’s  Tertiary Education Strategy  talks about equity of access and opportunity for all students.  One of the Strategy’s objectives is that increasing numbers of people with impairments should be acquiring skills and qualifications.  Funding and grants are available.

2. They work with individual students, groups of students, or with the  school system as a whole. 3. Then monitors the process and progress of those involved. 4.  RTBL adapt what they do to suit the needs of individual students, their families ,whanau, educators and specialists.  5 .  Develops a learning programme that overcomes barriers to learning.

Who does an RTLB work with? -Individual or groups of students -Year 0-10 students with ‘moderate’ learning difficulties

4- Special Education Services (SES)

The service providers include :  -  Psychologists - Speech-language therapists - Advisers on deaf children - Early intervention advisers and  teachers - Visiting teachers - Education support workers - Kaitakawaenga - Parent educators - Special education advisers - Special schools
Funding for special education services comes from  government  and all services provided are  free. I n 2002 SES and Ministry of education Special Education Area combined to form Group Special Education(GSE).   $$$$
Inclusive Education
It means: Teaching in ways that do not exclude students, accidentally or intentionally from opportunities to learn.
Strategies for Inclusive Teaching : Communicate Respect, Fairness, and High Expectations - Communicate goals for learning . -Consider students prior knowledge -Teach students to value success and how to achieve it. -Use inclusive language -Respond to problems and involve students
