Soon after I learned about Skillsoft,
my library updated the checkout computer
from Windows XP to Windows 8.1.
It was a big change, but I remembered seeing
Windows 8 learning assets offered on Skillsoft.
After viewing the Skillsoft asset I navigate our
new computer with no problems!
18. Linda Michaelis, West Point
I felt I learned a lot of useful information taking
this course. The course was user friendly and
easy to navigate.
Would I recommend Skillport? Yes. Will I use it
again? Definitely! I have already started another
course in Skillport for “Windows 8”.

As an Assistant Librarian in a public library I am all about free information!
Skillsoft is an amazing resource for me. I can further my education without robbing a bank or selling my firstborn.
The descriptions of the learning assets are accurate and convenient. I browse the descriptions to decide what asset to add to my plan.

I have found the expected duration times to be a little short. It has taken me longer than the estimated time to complete the curriculum in every asset so far. I recommend planning a few extra minutes to allow time to comprehend, review, and answer practice questions.
I recommend skillsoft for anyone who desires to learn.

The online Skillsoft classes I took did expand my knowledge of Microsoft Word. The class that they walked me through was Word 2013 so it was new territory for me. It’s a basic online class, but it did highlight a few things that I never thought to use before for instance the format painter, which is neat. I would suggest that anyone who would use the Skillsoft would use a good computer and a steady internet connection because the video does tend to slow down or snag if you don’t. It’s an easy system to use but you have to have patience with it because of all the screens you need to get through. It does a good job of testing what you have learned throughout the class. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to either learn more or just to brush up on their computer software skills.
