Role of the supervisor
 Expertise not required!
 Advise and guide on the process
 Meet regularly with students, help them meet
deadlines and provide feedback
 Understand the objectives/criteria*
 Assess their finished reflection essays using the criteria*
Meetings
 Will be initiated by students – they will send you an e-
mail to request a meeting
 The focus will be on reviewing specified process journal
entries
 This could include collectively assessing each process
journal entry
 Progress will be monitored through a PP progress
gradebook

understanding

Using Managebac
1. Select on the IB Level – Grade 10
2. Then click on the Projects tab
3. Where you should be able to select your student
Within each students workspace you should be able to see the worksheet
which provides an overview, required content checklist and the “notes
and interview” section where meetings must be recorded

The IB Learner profile provides a focus for reflection in the Personal
Project.
A 20 minute film would be a suitable final report.
Global contexts are really important and are mentioned in each of the
four criteria
By completing a final oral report there is no written requirement.
Mr. Commons has clearly identified 20 vital process journal entries
which must be completed.
Using Albert’s specification will a really good
snowman look like this:

  • 6. MYP Personal Project Role of the supervisor  Expertise not required!  Advise and guide on the process  Meet regularly with students, help them meet deadlines and provide feedback  Understand the objectives/criteria*  Assess their finished reflection essays using the criteria*
  • 7. Meetings  Will be initiated by students – they will send you an e- mail to request a meeting  The focus will be on reviewing specified process journal entries  This could include collectively assessing each process journal entry  Progress will be monitored through a PP progress gradebook
  • 8. Tips – help the student with…  Focusing on the project goal  Going into depth – focusing on deepening understanding  Identifying and using good sources  Time Management!
  • 9. Using Managebac 1. Select on the IB Level – Grade 10 2. Then click on the Projects tab 3. Where you should be able to select your student
  • 10. Within each students workspace you should be able to see the worksheet which provides an overview, required content checklist and the “notes and interview” section where meetings must be recorded Worksheet
