E6 Radio Review
Me and Megan were asked to create a show for a specific audience with
different contexts our target audience for E6 Radio. We wanted our target
audience to be for teenagers and so we set our show to be aired on a Friday
night around 7pm. Overall I though the ending result sounded fluent with no
dead air and professional, we both feel that we completed the task we was
asked to do successfully. The name of our show was ‘The Friday Feeling’ which I
think is really effective as well-known radio producers such as Nick Grimshaw
have their own show name (Nix tape). Our 1 hour show consisted of
contemporary hits including songs from Jess Gylnn, Gorgon City, and Calvin
Harris etc. Because myself and Megan was in the age category as our target
audience we knew what songs we would want to listen to, to get us in the Friday
Feeling!
I Feel as though we planned our show really well and the finishing result was
just how we wanted it but we both agreed that we shouldn’t of scripted it as
well as we did. As some of the things we said didn’t sound natural and you could
tell we had planned to say it, we should have practiced our show before actually
recording it to build up our confidence.
After we finished recording our show we had a focus group where everyone
shared their opinions, everyone in this focus group also studies media and had to
do the same task as us so they understood what we was trying to do. Around
80% of the class said everything was brilliant and that they would listen to our
show because of the music we used and the time it was on. Their favourite part
was the genre and they loved the name ‘The Friday Feeling’ they all said it gets
you into the weekend mood. On the other hand the other 20% said they didn’t
like this genre of music and that if it was as different type of genre they would
of listened because we was informative about subjects they were interested
about such as festivals and celebs.
To get more people’s opinions Megan created a questionnaire on Survey Monkey
the results were all positive but the one issue was that the genre of music didn’t
appeal to everyone and that people would of liked to hear different genres in
the show to their acquired taste.
