College administation system abstract
1. College ADMINISTRATION System
Objective
Main aim in developing College ADMINISTRATION System is to
provide an easy way not only to automate all functionalities of a college, but
also to provide full functional reports to top management of college with the
finest of details about any aspect of college.
College ADMINISTRATION System is software has the perspective
of attaining attraction of those colleges which don’t have one good
performing software for keeping their information secure and make their
management easier. College ADMINISTRATION System provides one
attractive environment where you can manipulate data and information about
students and staff easily. So we can say the Core purpose of designing “College
ADMINISTRATION System” is to manage the task related to the college
students/employees and to reduce time to searching of appropriate candidates in
college view.
2. Problem Statement
This system provides the detail structure of the college campus and its
departments. College ADMINISTRATION System synchronizes the working
of all the departments. It looks on all aspects of a college, its students, faculties,
Departments, marks and other co – curricular activities.
College ADMINISTRATION system is the easiest way to manage all
functionalities of a college. It is a value-added service offered by NEURAL,
which facilitates colleges to maintain the functionality related to college
employees and their students.
College ADMINISTRATION Software is a simple yet powerful one
joint integrated platform that connects all the various departments of an
institution like administration, Exam details, Staff details and many more
specialized modules.
3. Project Scope
College ADMINISTRATION Software is a web based application in which
users can access anywhere anytime. College ADMINISTRATION System
allows you to store modify and retrieve information using the pull down menus
for all the modules. The software includes many modules like:
1.Admin Login:-
2.Student info. & student details:-
3.Staff info. & Staff details:-
4.Department Management:-
5.Library management:-
6.Division Management :-
7.Resource Management:-
8. Notification Management:-
9.Event Management:-
5. Review of Literature
Today in college’s student details are entered manually. The student
details in separate records are tedious task. Referring to all these records and
updating is needed. There is a chance for more manual errors.
Problems in existing system:
It was limited to a single system.
It was less user-friendly.
It have a lots of manual work (Manual system does not mean that we are
working with pen and paper, it also include working on spread sheets and
other simple software's)
It requires more no of employees need to work.
It was time consuming process.
The present system was very less secure.
It is unable to generate different kinds of report.
6. Proposed System
The system after careful analysis has been identified to be presented with the
following modules:
The modules involved are:
1. Student information: Through this service one can access the complete
information about the students such as courses name, contact details,
caste, previous exam marks etc.
2. Student’s performance in exams: This facility provides the performance
of the student in each exam which is conducted by university or college
such as midterm performance. Marks obtained by students in exams will
be updated by admin that can be access by students and parents.
3. Departments: In this module admin manages the Labs and dynamically
allocate a lab to a staff.
4. Library management: In this module library staff manages the library,
which includes addition of book, issuing books to students, calculation of
fine, collecting the book from the students etc.
5. Information about staff: It will help in maintaining complete information
about college faculty members such as their department, cadre, date of
joining, salary, etc. Administrator will register new faculties and remove
their account when they leave the college.
6. Online assignments: This service provides the facility to faculty to upload
assignments, time table etc.
7. Events: It will give information about different events that will be
conducted by college time to time. Information about these events will be
updated by administrator.
7. 8. Assignments/Resources:- Admin and professor provides Assignments to
the department specific students. Students can login into the application
and access those notes or a documents.
9. Notification Management:- Admin or a professor enters notification for
the department specific students about lecture cancel, preponed,
postpone. Students receive in there notification panel.
8. 10. Requirements and Design
REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS
The basic requirements for the design of the SIMS are

placement and exam section Updates etc.
any of the information.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
College ADMINISTRATION system aims to improve the efficiency of college
information management, and the main function is managing and maintaining
information.
The administrator and students are two major functional requirements in the
system.
The Administrator will be given more powers (enable/disable/ update) than
other users. It will be ensured that the information entered is of the correct
format. For example name cannot contain numbers. In case if incorrect form of
information is added, the user will be asked to fill the information again.
Students use the system to query and enter their information only.
E. NON- FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The proposed system that we are going to develop will be used as the chief
performance system for helping the organization in managing the whole
database of the student studying in the organization. Therefore, it is expected
that the database would perform functionally all the requirements that are
specified.
9. The database may get crashed at any certain time due to virus or operating
system failure. Therefore, it is required to take the database backup.
We are going to develop a secured database. There are various categories of
people namely Administrator, Student who will be viewing either all or some
specific information from the database. Depending upon the category of user the
access rights are decided. It means if the user is an administrator then he can be
able to modify the data, append etc. All other users only have the rights to
retrieve the information about database.
10. Conclusion
This project assists in automating the existing manual system. This is a
paperless work. It can be monitored and controlled remotely. It reduces the man
power required. It provides accurate information always. Malpractice can be
reduced. All years together gathered information can be saved and can be
accessed at any time. The data which is stored in the repository helps in taking
intelligent decisions by the management. So it is better to have a Web Based
Information Management system. All the stakeholders, faculty and management
can get the required information without delay.
