2. Mobile user base crosses 65-crore mark India continues to be one of fastest growing telecom market in the world with the mobile subscriber base crossing the 650-million mark at the end of July. The wireless user base grew 2.66 % to 652.42 million in July from 635.51 million in the previous month.
3. The wireless teledensity has increased to 55.14% . Reliance Communication added 2.5 million new subscribers, taking its subscriber base to 113.3 million. The broadband subscriber base grew 2.67% from 9.45 million in June to 9.77 million in July.
4. Profitability of 3G services under a cloud As the major telecom operators in the country prepare to roll out the 3G services, spent huge amount to get the 3G spectrum in recent auction. Nine telecos together spent about Rs.65000 crore to get spectrum across telecom circles.
5. Analysts point out that the lack of significant user base for high priced, VAS can prove to be major impediment for the operators to cross over the profit margin area. A lot of people will depend on the way telecos set price points for voice calls, video calls and data services from circle to circle. The crucial battle will be on how these services are priced and how quickly telecos generate the 3G subscibers base.
6. Merc India sales up two- fold in August Luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz India reported its highest ever monthly sales of 573 units in August, an over two fold jump compared to the year ago period The company’s sales increased by 84.15% to 3497 units from 1899 units.

8. Maruti to invest Rs.1925 crore in proposed plant Maruti suzuki plans fresh investment of Rs.1925 crore in the proposed sixth plant that will help it to produce an additional 2.5 lakh cars by 2013. With the proposed expansion at Maruti Suzuki India will become the Japanese parents biggest production base.
