This document describes a ragged school that provided free basic education to poor and homeless children in the poorer parts of London. The school was run through charity and taught students the bible, reading, writing, as well as vocational skills like gardening, tailoring, shoemaking, knitting, sewing and housework in old church buildings during mornings and evenings. It aimed to give poorer children without means to afford education a chance to learn.
