first released on their 1977 album News of the World.[1] Written by
lead singer Freddie Mercury, it is one of Queen's most popular songs,
and one of rock's most recognisable anthems.[2]
• The song was a worldwide success, reaching number two in the UK
Singles Chart, and number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United
States.[3][4] In 2009, "We Are the Champions" was inducted into
the Grammy Hall of Fame,[5] and was voted the world's favourite song

November 1991, in England) was a British singer, songwriter and record
producer, known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Queen. At the age of 17,
Mercury and his family fled from Zanzibar for safety reasons due to the
1964 Zanzibar Revolution,in which thousands of Arabs and Indians were killed.
Mercury wrote 10 of the 17 songs on Queen's Greatest Hits album: "Bohemian
Rhapsody", "Seven Seas of Rhye", "Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "Good
Old-Fashioned Lover Boy", "We Are the Champions", "Bicycle Race", "Don't
