Why Filling in a Research Grant
Proposal
Funding is important NOT just because of the financial
support
Approved grant reflects on the importance of the study
Recognition for the PI and other Co-I
Recognition for the hosting institute
Commitment for the execution of the research project
Publication of data generated may be easier
6. ١٤٣٤/٠٨/٨ Dr. Faisal Al-Allaf,
fallaf@uqu.edu.sa
6
Factors that Make for
Success
Careful investigation of what funding is available
Which funding organizations
Preliminary contact with funding organizations
Writing an application which communicates your
intentions clearly
Learning from your mistakes and trying again if
necessary
DO NOT SUBMIT THE PROPOSAL TO MORE THAN
ONE GRANTING BODY AT A TIME
