The SPEER programme implemented an ERP system across the logistical and financial domains of the Dutch Armed Forces over several years from 2005-2014. It involved standardizing processes, migrating to a single SAP system, and reorganizing to support joint operations. Key challenges included the complexity of integrating many processes, organizational changes, and long timeframes. Lessons included managing complexity through a stepwise approach, strong governance, and ensuring business benefits rather than just an IT project.

17 september 2010 Integration & standardization: Processes are standardized and integrated across the four services (Army, Navy, Air force, MP), not only in a business blueprint but also in a ‘ready to use’ ERP-system. Implementation: ERP / Finance implemented across the entire armed forces and MoD. First migrations in logistics conducted successfully. From 2011 tot 2014 rollout on large scale in logistics.
