About the Author Paul A. Bourne is Director of Socio-Medical Research Institute, Kingston, Jamaica. He has taught at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus (UWI), University College of the Caribbean (UCC), Kingston College, St. Mary’s College, Vauxhall High School, and the University of the West Indies Open Campus. In 2007, he accurately predicted the National Elections in Jamaica. He is the author of Growing Old in Jamaica: Population Ageing and Senior Citizens’ Wellbeing, and A Simple Guide to the Analysis of Quantitative Data. An Introduction with hypotheses, illustrations and references, and coauthored Probing Jamaica’s Political Culture, volume 1: Main Trends in the July – August 2006 Leadership and Governance Survey, and A landscape Assessment of Political Corruption in Jamaica. He is also a co-founder and co-leader of Seaview Gardens’ Mathematics Clinic, where he volunteers in teaching Mathematics to High School students of the community.
